I think Provorov will be a legitimate Norris contender in the near future. - Pixote Andolini
He will likely need to find a way onto PP1 to even be a finalist. I do agree that he will be fully capable of winning it though |

Provorov 8th in nhl in goals for defenseman. One of the leaders in ice time. Not one mention for norris.
No respekt - Tfaehner
I'm not when sure the nhl looks at these facts anymore when you see guys like Subban or Karlsson win the Norris early in their careers.
High Plus/minus, ice time and points should make a clear winner for the Norris, not to mention shot blocks. |

Why is Lehtera in over Leir? Why is Flip on 3rd line instead of Laughton? Come on Hak if we can see this why can't you? - cousjoe
Lehtera is a better player than Leier is. The Flyers are on their way to a playoff berth and a 100 point season with Filppula in the role he is in. No reason to change. I think the coach sees it how it should be. |

I had no problem with Subban, although I thought Letang was more deserving that year. EK is just so damn good offensively that it's hard to ignore. Plus his defensive game has come a long way. But yeah, I prefer guys who excel at both ends over primarily offensive guys. |

All depends on cost. We can't afford to give him a lucic contract. - Tfaehner
I'm not sure they can even afford a home town discount(5x5). With whatever happens, the earliest I'd like to see an extension is after the TDL next season. |

I agree, he is a strong ES point producer but with Gostisbehere on the first unit, Provorov will have difficulty putting up the high offensive numbers needed to get enough notice. |

100 point season is a bit of a stretch. They'd have to win 8 of the next 9 games. |

That won't happen unless Ghost has a long-term injury or they go with a 3F/2D change on the PP. |

You're right, probably a big stretch. |

Lehtera has actually been playing well. I have no issue with him. As for Filppula vs. Laughton, they'll both see relatively comparable 5v5 ice time.
If we're arguing over our bottom 2 centers as our #1 problem, I'll live with it. - jmatchett383
As long as they keep Lehtera "in his lane" and don't give him PP or PK time, I'm cool with Lehtera being in the lineup. |

I don't really like the idea of Lehtera or Filppula on the PP.
Regardless of how the team is playing, it doesn't mean that all of the right decisions are being made and that you shouldn't be looking to improve some things. |

As the 2nd unit develops with sanheim provy Patrick tk and lindblom I expect that to have an uptick in points next year. Still not gost pp numbers but maybe +10/15 pp points vs this year |

I think the Flyers should make it work. Filppula should be gone this season along with Read. Lehtera next summer. MacDonald has sways to go but when it happens, that's a big lump.
I understand we have to pay Ghost Konecny, Provorov and a couple others but I don't think those deals will break us because I feel their next deals will be bridge gaps. |

I hope so. They could really use some goals from that second unit. |

I think they lock Provorov up with a Doughty type of deal.
Ghost is already locked up.
It all depends on what he wants and what happens with the cap. |

He hasn't scored 59 points yet. He is probably worth 7 per, but the point totals may keep the price down |

NHL GMs have recommended that Hockey Ops (Situation Room in Toronto) takes over final decision for goalie interference challenges. Now in the process of seeking NHLPA approval, as well as NHL Officials Association. |

We got lucky when Ghost came in at 6 x 4.5 so Provy at those would be excellent |
