On our young guys and spots...if they have good training camp and Pre season games...why not try them a few in the NHL. If after 3 games not much doing end them to AHL for a bit to work on things.
Let’s not forget our assessment of boeser was to bench him for the first 2 games... - canucksfan1944
We are looking at two additions really. Gaudette who was drafted 3 years ago and is a Hobey Baker front runner and Petterson who just broke the record set by the best Swedish players ever to play. Call me an optimist , but I like their chances over Gagner Eriksson Granlund Motte Leipsic Goldobin Gagner Sven and the rest of the Motely Crew |

They drafted a fast team, we all know the players rallied together knowing they were “let go” by their old teams. And Gallant is a solid coach, seems to be one of the most well liked coach’s in the league by players.
I still question them in the playoffs, people who watch the team say they just out-skate and out-work teams most nights so I’m wondering if the lack of elite talent bites them in the ass when everyone plays at 110% in the playoffs.
Also interested to see if they repeat as a playoff team next year.
Gonna be interesting. - Nucker101
True. Great reg. season run but PO's are a different beast.
reality is setting in a bit for Vegas and I don't think they match up well with SJ, ANA or LA at all. I think it's one and done. |

I agree with this.
But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Gaudette start in the AHL if the Sedins are back. The waiver eligibility of others will save their asses.
Remember Green wanted Archibald on this team from day 1, but management told him that they didn’t have room for him on the big club. |

Times are changing with the whole 'developmental' process. Gone are the days of 90% of players coming out of tier 1 junior WHL/CHL what have you.
Now we have the elite leagues in Europe, NCAA, even some junior A leagues producing top ten picks and blue chip talent.
The league is moving away from '4 years in the AHL' mentality. Some may not like it...but it is what it is. |

Why would anyone be stupid enough to bring the Sedins back ? To shelter us from falling out of 31 st spot? To teach us how to finish 0-16 and still collect top money? |

I really don't like you . I suggest you farm your pigs in your condo so you don't freak out about being poisoned by Safeway and stop engaging with me before I make it really personal . I bet also as an old timer I could kick your ass in a 100 yard sprint |

I was thinking of you yesterday going back to the summer when a few on here said Golden Knights had a better roster than the Canucks and you were very vocal about how bad Vegas would be. I tell you no one seen this coming. I thought they would end up 25 th not 5 th . - VANTEL
I believe I said they could be the worst team in history They will get smashed in the first round but either way I have been impressed! |

it's true. I similarly don't watch the draft either, so drawn out. I do keep tabs on my phone/comp though |

If they could it would be a miracle. Throw in Baertschi, Granlund, Erickson, Sutter, MDZ, Gudbranson too while we’re at it. - 1970vintage

Vantel the optimist
That's the only two I see making the roster. Which works out well if a)they can handle it and b) there's a spot. I think there's nothing wrong with making them wait and earn it but I get your position. |

Petterson and Gaudette with addition of Liepsic is why we should be moving on from Sven and Gold who may have some draft pick value. Granlund I would keep because he will be cheap and plays multiple positions.. The rest can be waived for all I care.. |

If Fluery is out they are hooped. If they stay in 1st and have home ice, but not play SJ or LA, they have a shot. I don't hate their chances against Anahiem or Dallas. |

i thought that was a pretty fun game last night. What do you want, a slide-whistle? If your going to a trailer park horse show, don't expect to see clydesdales. - neem55
No to the slide-whistle.
Henrik's comments after the game got me thinking about coaching schemes and deployment.
"I was surprised how fast they played,” Sedin said. “They have five guys taking off as soon as they get the puck. And they make plays. Even when you play in their end, you battle and battle and battle. And when you give the puck away, a lot of teams would just chip it out and change. But they keep coming at you, and then you have to backcheck and all of a sudden you’re tired in your end. That’s how they scored their fourth goal tonight. That’s how they score a lot of goals.”
That doesn't sound like that's skill driven. That sounds like playbook and player personality getting it done. Just like to see that kind of play from our team. And it doesn't take skill to play that way. |

For sure, but it’s also speed driven. Canucks have a decent amount of mediocre skaters, even outside of the Sedins |
