Well if he wasn’t so overplayed...
and all the defensive zone work is tough minutes
I bet you’d see a lot more jump in his step next year when we have kids up that can actually play more than 12min a night
The guy looks 32 bc we beat the crap out of him
And the “we are last place” is a bad argument
ROR isn’t the problem - jdfitz77
Including Jack .... every player on this team is performing below the level they would be performing at if they were on another team. Evander Kane is a perfect example. |

He's got one more 5 on 5 point that Ron (frank)ing Hainsey. - Sabresfan-365
Is 5v5 the only metric for whether or not a player is good?
As i pointed out earlier...
Pommer & Vanek we’re both top10 in 5v5pts/60min last year...
are they really in the top10 forwards in the league
You’re taking #s without context
We are the lowest scoring team on the league...
do we have ANYONE with good 5v5 numbers?

U can’t just pick & choose who that argument applies to though
Eichel plays a lot
He’s been here 3 years
Yet we are 31st
See what I’m getting at? - jdfitz77
so if jack and ror are so great
why is this team dead last in goals
something has to give because no team in the history of the nhl, with 2 centers who are suppose to be so great yet the team is dead last with them playing 40 plus minutes a night
name me 1 team with 2 super talented centers that perform this bad
you are suppose to build down the middle
something ain't working after 3 years
and ror is about to be on the decline
see where I am going at? |

except our eyes and numbers tell us that he's making and impact and driving possession.
Neither the eyes nor stats say that about ROR. - Sabresfan-365
Wait, ROR isn’t Jack... no sh!t
Jack is also used HEAVILY offensively and O’Reilly is used EXTREMELY HEAVILY defensively
U really don’t think that has an effect? |

if he didn't turn the puck over so much, he would be in the other team's end instead of retreating

How’s our defense?
Pretty tough to put up points when you’re stuck in your own end
How’s our team speed?
Pretty hard to be successful in today’s NHL with one of the slower rosters
How’s ROR used?
Pretty hard to have fresh legs when you’re overplayed every night & getting all the hardest minutes
What kind of help are ROR & Jack getting from the rest of the team around them?
Not much
I can take your argument & apply it to...
Edmonton-
they suck still, and they have THREE good centers
Ny Islanders-
Missing the playoffs again with Tavares & Barzal topping it up
Hey... the Blackhawks are bad now...
is it bc Kane & Toews suddenly suck?
Or is it bc trading away all the hep they had around them has finally caught up?
No 2 guys can do it alone
Hockey is a TEAM sport
And we have a bunch of holes still |

That’s utter nonsense
He STARTS in the defensive zone more than just about anybody in the league bc we can’t depend on anyone else to win a damn faceoff
And his turnover stats aren’t bad at all |

- jdfitz77
You love to exaggerate this. RoR has 58% defensive starts. That's far from extreme. Larsson has 68%, that's extreme.

one hole is second line center
ours is too slow for today's game, and is only going to get slower and still cost 7.5 per |

Weird how Eric Staal looked like he was done on a crappy Carolina team...
And now he’s on a playoff team and suddenly he looks like one of the league’s better forwards again
I don’t get it
Bc if it was his fault that Carolina was bad,
(just like it’s ROR’s fault that we are)
how did he become a good player again?
Must be magic... |

do you watch the game?
if he passes the puck too far out of reach, or behind his winger
it may not be a turnover in the stat sheet, but it's why he is going back in his own end
he is not a good passer, and really should be playing wing (take the face offs) |

our coach,

ALL disagree with you
Idk what else to say?

Tanking 101:
You have to tank from the beginning.
All teams close at the end.
Same in 2015. Everyone was closing the gap.
We have been consistently bad.
This is a year where there are 4 or 5 great prospects, which plays into the new tank rules.
No way we can be this bad. Unless its on purpose - Boss34
No they're this bad just like last year and the year before that and the year before that etc
Tanking on purpose? I'm the pro tank guy
but these guy are not trying to tank they just suck |

Please list the number of defensive zone faceoffs O’Reilly has
Vs
the number Larsson has
I assure you...
it’s extremely lop-sided
Actually...
why don’t u list them for ALL our centers?
Then you’ll see who is out there for the tough defensive zone assignments the overwhelming majority of the time |

he is getting up in age, and is soon to be a bad contract
this is buffalo, we need better than good
it's a cap era
he was a player that would have been fine if we were ready to knock on the playoff door
we are not that team 3 years later, and the product on the ice is not getting better any time soon
I really think they need to move him to the wing

I think he may be saying that RoR would be a better player in a lesser role. I think most would agree on that. |

Sure.
The sabres made so many trades to improve our chances of winning.
Wilson for a 5th.
You must really hate jbotts then? He's doing.a horrible job then I guess in your mind? Probably should fire him right?
We are in 31st place.
This was planned. - Boss34

If he scored at 5 on 5 but didn’t get the benefit of PP time, I’d agree.
But he isn’t scoring at evens |

That’s just another way to say that players perform better when they are on better teams
If ROR just took the $$$ and nailed it in...
then how is it that all the guys he plays against feel he’s underrated?
It’s very convenient for your argument that u answer NONE of the questions i pose
