Strictly numbers based he's produced (including his draft year) like a 1st round pick in most drafts so if you've got a pay a 2nd and 4th or something id definitely consider it if they had some assurance that he'd actually sign.

I don't know what Gusev's reasoning was and it is tough for them, but they did hold on to his rights for a little while so at some point he was probably good enough to at least make the Lightning out of camp.

Last year was Gusev’s first really good season in the KHL
So i could definitely see a scenario where Tampa couldn’t guarantee him a roster spot previously
Especially with how good & deep they’ve been at forward

I guess it would at least be worth investigating, bc i highly doubt he’d sign with Vegas after what they pulled with Shipachyov

As far as the draft pick from Florida goes...
I’d onlybtrade for him if we could talk to his agent & get assurance he’d sign
