Browns sitting here at 4 could take Barkley or they could trade back. If I am Beane and I really like Rosen or Mayfield this is where I am looking to move into. Give them 12, 22, their 3rd round back and a 2019 2nd round. Get ahead of Elway if you think he is going QB (I am not sure I think they believe they can win now with Keenum). I think the Browns take Barkley and Denver takes Nelson

If you think Elway is passing on a QB and you're already having conversations with these other teams the cost to move in front of Miami isn't going to be a ton. Move to 10 to move up 2 spots give Oakland a 2nd rounder and be done with it. Maybe a 2nd and a 3rd (not the Browns pick).

You would pick at 10 take Rosen, Mayfield, or Allen and still have a pick at 22.

There aint one team in the top 10, dumb enough to drop 10+ spots for pick #22 & Shaq Lawson. I doubt that trade even works in madden.

Because there are 4 QBs

Looking at how the draft should play is out part of the GM's job.

Them trading up to the top 5 when they could get that guy at 10 is like paying $300,000 for a house when you know you could get it for $200,000

It is bad asset management.

Casey isn’t signing till the offseason.

Although you are actually right here, he's right as well.

The scenarios are apples and oranges, but you mortgage the talent and long term stability of your team for an unknown. Is it Aaron Rodgers or Ryan Leaf? It's a monster gamble. FYI there's like 15x the chance it's Ryan Leaf. You need to be very careful in what a team like this pays for an unknown.

So, if they don't use all this draft capital they have acquired for the intention of moving up, when and how do you all NJpropose they acquire their franchise QB?

Of course it is expensive, and of course there are unknowns making it somewhat risky...but that is what they get paid major friggin dollars to do...and this combination of Beane and McDermot (sp?) Are the best this team has seen since Olian/Butler and Levy.
Now Is THE time to pull the trigger...the stars are all aligned.

The Jets didn't jump us. They moved up 3 spots to have a better chance at getting the qb they want. You have to figure they were picking a qb at 3 or 6 regardless. So either they get the guy they want at 3 or 6. This has no bearing on the Bills.

The Bills weren't jumped. In fact, I don't see how this trade effects them in the slightest.

The only argument here is that the Jets paid what the Bills wouldn't. Just for the opportunity to get ahead of the Broncos. And based on what they paid, it was a price that is going to guarantee mediocrity for that team for the next 2-3 years.

The Jets did jump the Bill's to one of the possible draft spots. No they weren't picking after the Bill's, But they sure did jump into one of the two likely desired spots.
If the Jets pick turns out to be a franchise QB ala Roger's, Brees, Manning, etc...no Jets will consider it an over payment.they will consider it one of the best moves in their franchise history and appreciate it for 10-12 years.
