Is it bad because he fell down?
The kid has been on the plus side the past 2 seasons.
Rather they take a defenseman with some late picks over forwards, as our defense depth is the pits.
Also, defense positioning is a lot easier to teach than offense. - Reubenkincade
After he gets up just stops and watches the guy get 2 chances at scoring. Feelings would have even made an attempt. |

It’s a close race. I love Svechnikovs skating but....he is Russian. I’d probably still give the edge to Zadina but a team has to be confident they can improve his skating - CanuckDon

Yeah, I liked his skill in that game but he didn’t look like the best skater. |

He's one of the younger player in the draft. I don't think I would take him early in the 2nd or anything. Maybe 45-60 pick.
Forwards getting smaller and faster. Too big not fast enough. Sounds a lot like Gudbranson. |

Bure?
Should they only draft Swedes?
Without a cup, the Canucks have no history, with the exception of a history of poor management... |

9. JONATHAN DAHLEN, C, VANCOUVER CANUCKS (+35)
Last year: not ranked
This year: 66th
The Ottawa Senators re-signed Alexander Burrows, then 35, to a two-year contract extension immediately after acquiring him from the Vancouver Canucks for prospect Dahlen in 2017. A year later: the Sens placed Burrows on waivers last month, while Dahlen is one of Future Watch’s top risers. Sorry, Sens fans. The Canucks are slow-cooking Dahlen, and he battled mononucleosis this year in the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s second division, but he still managed to light up that league. He should cross over to the AHL when his season ends overseas, and the Canucks will hope he’s NHL-ready by 2019-20. Their management team loves his quick hands.

I dont get your logic by pointing this out. The kid is obviously highly regarded by even getting to play in this game.
Usually, whenever a race or a evaluation on a certain skill is being evaluated, someone is at the top and someone is at the bottom.
Chara was also a player that had similar issues, as was Carlo and Tryamkin and many other large players who are learning to play in there given size.
I would be pretty happy with him as a prospect. |

I'm hoping they win. No sense bringing Guadette into a losing environment at this point. |

There are a lot of 3rd and 4th round picks that play in that game every season. Chara turned into more then a 3rd pairing D man. Carlo by GM's is thought to be a 3rd pairing guy. Tryamkin showed flashes of being more but no one was questioning Tree's skating. I would love to pick him up. Not for a high second round pick though. If he makes it to the 3rd sure.

What I like Dahlen about is that he’s not one of those “needs to be put in an offensive role to suceeed” type of prospect.
He’s got some good energy to his game, on the forecheck and isn’t afraid to battle for the puck. I hope that doesn’t change when he comes over to N/A |

lots of support for the tank right now
I think fans see the club needs more talent, need some prospects to make the club next season and we need to get lucky at the draft.
it's bad, but I think fans are still supportive, or aware of whats happening. the season is done. stick a fork in it. - hillbillydeluxe
Most of us here are passionate of our team. Future looks positive but it will still be a while until we get there. Need a huge win at the draft...minor trades cuz the assests just aren't there. Lastly, no dumb ass signings...wait and try and find some diamonds in the rough. |

it isn't worth getting hyped out prospects until they're actually good because 9/10 scouting reports, especially on European players, can be thrown in the trash once you send the player to the AHL |

Not sure if i agree with this. Have you seen the size of some of the Flyers Bruins Kings etc signings recently.
Also the size of the defenseman on the top teams like Tampa Anaheim St Louis Boston etc.
Sure some more smaller players are in the league but most good teams still have large players at forward and defense. |

They are backup goalies. No coach changes that. Queue Dragon - neem55
Under Rollie the backups were always dynamite and would provide solid goaltending. They wouldn't get beat on shots they shouldn't, they just couldn't make the saves that a starter with more talent could.
Not the case with Clouts |

No doubt, I don't really get excited about most "B" grade type of prospects until they show something in the AHL. Even then, you could end up with a Clendening or Vey who get fans excited by producing in the AHL at a young age but doesn't have the right tools to become an effective NHL'er. |

Your guess is as good as mine, too soon to tell with Dahlen and Gadj. Neither have played a single pro game in North America. Same with Lind. Hopefully even 1 of them pans out as a legit top 6 forward, if 2 of them pan out, that would just be gravy.
I'm still not 100% sold on Sven as a top 6 player on a good team, and Leipsic is still a tweener until he proves that he isn't over a larger sample size.
Bo and Brock and most likely EP are the only guys I'd say are locks as legit top 6 players. |

Do you have a link that quotes the GM's or is it former gm like Button?
He is a 21 year old playing on 1 of the best teams in the league. If he is playing 3rd pairing minutes, while still improving, I would call that developing quite well.
I have watched about 10 Bruins games this season and see him as a fine defenseman. Would love to have him. |

trying to be patient.
Cant think of anyone that is a fan who really enjoys the losing. taking it as cod liver oil. a bit distasteful now but hoping we will be better off down the road.
until we can win regularly, I hope the team gets quicker and Green keeps pushing the players to work and play hard.
I still feel we need more grit in the lineup. it is hard enough losing a game, don't want to see the kids beat up along the way. |

I cut it off at 6' and under
Barzal, Gourde, Keller, Debrincat, DeBrusk, Kerfoot, Bratt, Hudson, Vrana, Iaffalo
Over 6'
Boeser, Haschier, Connor, Heinen, PLD Kempe, Fischer, Tuch, Patrick, Frk
Top 20 scoring rookie forwards from this season. It's 10/10 |

I think I can count on one hand the amount of "big hits" the Canucks young guys have taken this year.
You just don't really see as many big hits anymore. I'm sure it'll ramp up in the playoffs, but the Canucks are a long way from that(50 lucky bounces or so away)
I'd rather the team cut loose the vets that need to be babysat with easy minutes. And bring in vets who can handle playing checking roles without getting destroyed. That's going to help the young guys more than some scrub dropping the gloves 5-6 times in an 82 game season.
I like what Pouliot did the other night, team toughness >>> 1-3 body guards |
