This democracy (any democracy) works best when governed by a center-left and a center-right party - crossing the center line depending on the issue.
While my personal preferences might be more liberal-progressive, I will not support candidates like Sanders or Warren (whose policy proposals I may more agree with) over a more moderate candidate who is willing to modify, accommodate, and compromise the political process. Sanders and Warren (and comparables on the right) cannot govern, cannot accommodate the approximately half of the countries that disagrees with them.
We must somehow bring the (small-“d”) democracy back to the center.

I describe myself as a centrist just right of center. I prefer smaller government. Il with its outdated township system is a travesty

And don’t overlook the fact that they took Jokiharju over future STUD scorer, Tolvanen, when Jokiharju was rated as a mid-2nd round prospect. That one is going to hurt for years, especially since we’ll be seeing him in Nashville every year. If it’s me, Bowman goes, and Q stays (unless Trotz is available). Problem is, if Bowman goes I believe Norm MacIver would be promoted rather than someone with a fresh perspective from outside the organization. - hawks2010
WTF? Are you serious? Neither one has played a single game in NHL and you are judging Jokiharju all ready..Hey let´s whine everybody! Sure Tolvanen has looked good in KHL but it´s a long way from him to be STUD scorer in NHL. And just to let you know Jokiharju is doing just fine with his progress. Bowman wasn´t only one who passed on Tolvanen though. |

And now for something completely different - the Pittsburgh PP (or 6x5) - nothing fancy, just movement and crisp passing. |

If the hawks do think edijesll is a center and could be AA replacement then maybe package AA duclair rights or vinny and Nashville's pick the hawks got in the hartman trade and move back in top 10 draft tkachuck with 7 overall pick if he still there then the hawks with that package get the 10th overall pick from whatever team rangers say and draft a d man say dobson smith etc... One possible idea or AA to Montreal for 2 2nd rounders like someone mention would not be a bad idea. Take the AA money and go get a top 4 d man or 2 soild d man with nhl experience and been in the league for awhile. - Scott1977
Lets not be carried away here. Trading Anisimov away and replace him with inexperienced player doesn´t take this team to right direction. I would keep Anisimov in the mix next year. Useful player that can get the job done and gives you regularly 20 goals. |

More fake news. Sikura is an under-sized college smurf, he's AHL fodder at best. |

I'm looking forward to seeing what Jokiharju can do, I think he'll turn out to be an excellent pick. Tolvanen could be good too, but for those complaining about not drafting him just remember that almost every other GM passed on him too. |

Ever heard “birds of the same feather stick together.”
Not black - hawk fans.
I do not believe that the two or more anti Sikura and anti Bowman have a strong case. Maybe they fit in on a diversified panel discussion group like The Tri-lateral Commission if they spoke hockey
Anyway someone will eat crow after Sikura signs with whomever. The MLB allows players to be re-drafted (without penalty) unless I am unaware of their rules. So I would hope in the next CBA that somehow a provision states that if a player does not sign with drafted team, he cannot be signed away without compensation. In order to protect the balance of power between financially able or not teams, as well favorite destination to sign teams, either re-draft or a judge determines the player’s value at time of signing
Right now you have immature or greedy kids determining what rout to take and they hold the final decision, not the league or its teams. I seriously hope someone sues the nhlpa, the nhl, and the players who jump ship from their original draft team. I would vote for an injunction for a work stoppage until this is cleared up. It seems unfair to allow newbie kids to bypass the system in place. I would relish the opportunity regarding those who jump ship to run them into the boards with my stick in their ribs intent to injure. Pay the price for your greediness at the expense of fairness to the game and the desire for an equal playing field |

We all think that “opposition media” coats news with opinion but that media we agree with don’t.
I will probably never be able to convince you that the more Democratic Post or NYT are objective news sources; you will probably never be able to convince me that any Murdock-owned press (or the Tribune) presents straight facts anywhere.
But in reality, the news holes of the major media (yes, even Fox cable news and the WSJ - and the Post and Times) Do a pretty good job of separating opinion from fact.
But - that’s just my news junkie’s opinion. - StLBravesFan
Cmon, man. Allowing false equivalencies gets you this and then the gum-ment that follows and you deserve. https://www.politico.com/...ublicans-wmds-iraq-114016
Big government, small gum-ment, union, right to work (with a jackboot on your neck). Whichever you believe is fine but facts are facts unless you have a whole network dedicated to propaganda (minus Chris Wallace) and the 500 billion Koch Bros cabal to create facts/reality that gets you 15 yrs after 9-11 a whole swath of ignorant voters.

The value AA carries this past deadline compared to next trade deadline should be the same, given it is what AA provides a contender relative to any negative considerations (age, skating, propensity to be injured). I do not know if the threat of a work stoppage due to no contract agreement in place when the current CBA expires, makes a difference in trade value. |

Now that Sikura is signed, expect the slow drip of anti-Bowman material to start making the rounds. He will be relieved of his duties shortly after season ends. |

That would be marvelous. Brady Tzchuck looks like a man against boys for BU and he is the 18 yr old boy playing against mostly 20+ college guys. Get a GM with the cajones to do what is necessary to get the skilled power forward the Hawks so desperately need! Will be interesting to see if Edjsell and sikura play tomorrow.... |

Chicago has plenty offensive dmen so no need to rush Jokiharju. Some AHL probably a good thing. Two summers to get stronger is also helpful. Tolvanen has to be better and has to fit into a top lines role else go to Milwaukee AHL. The Pred’s have a deep talented roster even now. |

That defender playing against Sikura's team yesterday certainly fit the "man against boys" description. He was EVERYWHERE. |

Even in today's skill/speed NHL, please name one All-Star defenseman that is under 5'10"? If Bowman takes the 165lb offensive Dman from UM, I will be disappointed, but not the least bit surprised. |
