I'm looking forward to seeing what Jokiharju can do, I think he'll turn out to be an excellent pick. Tolvanen could be good too, but for those complaining about not drafting him just remember that almost every other GM passed on him too. - DarthKane
Wrong! Stan picked him so we know he's bad. |

Sikura deleted his tweet that he signed with the Blackhawks. Maybe he had a change of heart? - DarthKane
Probably was asked to wait until Hawks announce officially. |

Darth: I want to applaud your reverse psychology on the Sikura signing. It worked!! Your negative vibe was quite helpful in getting him into the fold!! Keep up the good work! Can you please predict that the Hawks won't win the Draft lottery next? And that Seabrook won't retire after that? Thanks in advance!

Even in today's skill/speed NHL, please name one All-Star defenseman that is under 5'10"? If Bowman takes the 165lb offensive Dman from UM, I will be disappointed, but not the least bit surprised. - EnzoD
Saw somewhere his size being bigger than that. Being only 18 years of age, his size is not static.
Also I saw him play and will not be too disappointed now if we do not pick in the top 3 if he is still available. The guy is something else with the way he skates and changes direction on a dime. |

At least somebody picked up on my extreme sarcasm. I didn’t necessarily think Sikura was a lock to sign, but I thought there was a good chance. I wouldn’t have blamed Sikura if he decided to go the UFA route, that would have been his right to do so.
While the remaining games are meaningless it will be interesting to watch Edjsell and Sikura. Who knows if they will ever be NHL talent, but they have the opportunity to show what they can do. |

As Powers pointed out he is tight with Sullivan. Ending up in Pit would not have been a bad thing for his career. |

Off topic here a bit....
Nick’s brother Jordan Schmaltz doesn’t seem to be fitting in with the Blues. Would it be worth taking a chance on him in a small trade (i.e. for Duclair)? Has anyone watched J Schmaltz play enough to make a fair assessment? |

I wasn't kidding, I thought he would wait until august and sign somewhere. But now that he apparently has, after looking at his picture in a t-shirt I'll say he better be really good (Kane good) or it's going to be a really long time in the gym and the A before he makes any noise in the show. A lot of people, me included, thought Kane was too slight and he proved not to be. Good luck kid. |

that's what the Blackhawks have to sell these kids right now; a chance to play and burn a year of ELC. I'm glad the team is leveraging what they have and got Sikura signed. It makes the rest of the season more interesting and creates some hope for the future. |

FWIW, seeing Keith in person at one of the Hawks charity events, up close and near Kane et al, no way the guy is 6'. More like 5'10"ish. |

Blackhawks iPhone app states Sikura is signed and will immediately report to the team. And that his contract runs through next season. |

Won't play until Thursday though because of his visa correct?

don't think he could have gotten that deal as UFA this summer...
fascinating how a 6th round pick is now heralded as a high #1 and avoids a 3 year ELC...
nothing against the young man...i hope he excels next year but my guess his signing with the hawks was 80% business and $$

Nope, only if signed with the hawks now. otherwise he would have to play 2 full years on his ELC. it was a 5.0M + decision |

Makes you wonder if wanted this type of contract to see what the outcome with Q is. Does he leave if Q gets the boot? |
