If Dylan's debut could be as soon as this Thursday, I could see the Hawks sending down Martinsen and calling up Tyler to create a "feel good" story in addition to the great news of signing a top prospect. - AEL_Fox
Hwo about forgetting about the "feel good" story and begin to start a NEW culture of TEAM TOUGHNESS with Martinsen leading the way. That's his strength as a 4th liner. Use it !!
This team and organization needs to STOP being the "patsies" of the NHL and become tough to play against. There is NO stanley cup in the near future so the boys of the past can not dangle their way any longer. Time for NEW leadership, NEW attitudes, NEW aggrestive push-back and stick together hockey. No more stick check defense and instill some body checking and a crease clearing system. Probably will never happen with Q here and the current D, but you have to start somewhere.
They have other options beside sending down a strong tough intimidating type player like Martinsen that this team needs desperately. Leave him alone to play his game that will make other teams
play with their heads up.

Based on 5hat performance, you’d want him? Chokes away the biggest game of his career, playing on the highest scoring line in college hockey? Game Center has him as a -3. - scottak
How was he -3, when Michigan scored a total of 3 goals, and Sikura scored as well?! He was noticeable on the ice all night. Their line was minus because Michigan’s break out, especially Hughes, was OUTSTANDING!!! I thought, if anything, Northeastern’s goalie gave up a couple soft goals. Now, it was Hawks prospect Ryan Shea, who failed to lift the stick that scored the game winning goal. |

Don’t know, just looked up the box score on the NCAA website, and that’s what it said. Assume he was on the ice for all 3 goals against. Was his goal on the PP? |

Blackhawks need more talent. They need it now, they'll need it in the future. Sikura is a talented college hockey player with NHL potential. I hope the Blackhawks sign him and I look forward to seeing what he can do. |

Watching the northeastern Michigan game gaudett skuira look good if the hawks draft huges won't be disappointed kid can skate like the wind edge work is excellent future quarterback of a pp. Thought drop some info - Scott1977
Hughes is an elite skater, no doubt. His 16 yr old brother Jack, a forward, is playing with the U-18 NTDP just scored his 99th point on the season. Only 3 other NTDP kids have ever scored 100 points in a season. Kane, Matthews and Keller. And this kid isn't draft eligible until 2019. |

Don't disagree with you. The Hawks need to get tougher next season. Martinsen could very well be in the mix to earn a 4th line spot. He's got the desired traits of a big, hard hitting grinder who so far doesn't seem to hurt you defensively either.
This season, though, playing tough isn't going to change with:
(A) a handful of games left (why now?)
(B) nothing to play for
(C) Bowman as GM and Q as coach
(D) McDonough being a marketing guy as team president
(E) the team becoming irrelevant in Chicago sports news
Tyler Sikura also isn't a finesse forward like Dylan; he's a physical grinder. Not the same size as Martinsen but no slouch either. I've seen Tyler listed as 6'0" and 6'2" so not sure how tall he is (weight has also ranged from 190 to 200+). |

From watching him play, he reminds me of a left handed Schmaltz, but doesn’t skate as well. Very nice hands, though!! |

Good thing Kane is such a 1-dimensional player. Only offense which must be why Q trusts him to play Center on the #1 line....HA! |

Great to see someone other than the bluebloods, ie usual suspects make a run. The NCAA tournament continues to be my favorite sporting event ever (narrowly outpacing NHL playoff hockey and baseball in October). |

Agree !! And love seeing the underdogs win. Although one has to start to wonder if Loyola is really an underdog. Loyola…..Final Four …………..to quote Harry Carey….."Holy Cow" |

Agree, but the fact they are an 11 seed by definition makes them an underdog.
My vote here is for Texas Tech, another underdog. My wife is a TTU alum and I've been to Lubbock for football games.
If TTU doesn't win it all then I sure hope Loyola of Chicago does. |

Other than Buddy Holly, TT, and of course your wife - is there any reason to go to Lubbock?
Or Texas?
(Other than Austin and San Antonio.). |

This Loyola team is a well balanced team, plays with passion+husstle... Something that was the hallmark of our champion teams of the Hawks. Unfortunately, that is not the receppy of our current Hawks. |

Isles look pretty flat tonight, not helping the Hawks' tank strategy. |

They’ve used up their 4 non-emergency call-ups I think - maybe Toews injury can get them another one - don’t know if they used one for DuClair’s.
Hogs are also in a pennant race - they may want to let some of that play out - important to see how these guys do under some kind of “win or else” pressure (even if it’s not for Stanley’s Cup). - StLBravesFan

I challenge you to name a city in Texas where the Cubs had a farm team long ago -- maybe early 80's (?). And the Blackhawks had a farm team in Texas once upon a time - what city was that? |

There's that offense-only Kane picking Tavares' pocket to prevent a Grade-A scoring chance.... |
