They are not going to win in St. Louis on a back to back. I'm thanking my lucky stars they won in Chicago. They play a struggling Stars team in Dallas on Sunday ... then finish with 5 out of 6 at home. They will win 2 more games to finish it out with 65 points. We will not reach that point total.

I hope you're right. They've been so bad lately that 2 wins seems optimistic to me.

Side note....Brickley got knocked out tonight. Really need to land him or Borgen.

I fully believe that as well. Im pro high draft pick but at 18.5% and a three spot drop, Im kind of "it's whatever" on the whole thing.

Even if we finish last .... there's no way I'm expecting to land the #1 pick but I just don't want to drop out of the top 4.

Neither do I but c'est la vie. could finish 4th last not, drop at all or only one spot or could finish last and drop all the way to 4.

Dahlin
Svechnikov
Zadina
Tkachuk
Boqvist
Hughes
Bouchard

Id take any of them and Im very confident that one of these guys will be a Sabre by the end of draft day.

Is it still the general consensus that your top 4 are the cream of the crop and after that there is a drop ?

Id say more like top 3 and then a drop.

Tkachuk, boqvist, hughes, bouchard and maybe wahlstrom after that.

Edit: Although there are some that think highly of tkachuk, perhaps over Zadina.

Phil Housley:

Straying: "We had the start we wanted. We came out and played a really solid first period and stuck with the gameplan. From there, not as much... guys seemed to take matters into their own hands."

Wanting to take a step forward in the leadership department: "I think it's about time our leadership group stepped up. We challenged them yesterday, and this definitely wasn't the response we were looking for."

Chicago might as well start making Dahlin jersey's for sale now. The league is not going to let them be years in the rebuild stage. A quick stop at the bottom to pick up a new franchise Dman, and the ship will be righted again.

Nope. Wasn't sure they'd score another goal all year!

The problem is that 5 and 6 are undersized defensemen, who are riskier and further away from the NHL. I like Tkachuk, not everyone here does. No one will say he'd look out of place in the NHL next year.

Low ceiling, high floor. I agree though he wouldn't look out of place and he'd probably be our 3rd or even 2nd best forward.

Funny you mention that .......... try running the simulator 20 times and notice how often Chicago either wins it or lands in the top 3. Crazy ........

I understand the thinking. Personally, I think Jack needs a winger with some grit that can get him the puck and get to the net. Okposo has been the closest thing, and for whatever reason, they don't pair them. Tkachuk's a better version. He's also looked good with Mittlestadt. Not pushing for him #2, but if we walk away with him, I'll be content.

I know we need a #1 D-Man but I honestly wouldn't mind getting second overall and drafting Svechnikov, he is the winger that Jack Eichel has been waiting for. Looking through some of the prospect reviews on him one stood out the most to me "Future 40 goal scorer in the very near future". Now that is something Buffalo really needs. I wouldn't mind a Laine clone on the Sabres. Plus he shoot left and plays his off wing, maybe we can get him to switch and play left wing killing 2 birds with 1 stone (High Scoring Winger, and Left Wing Needs)
