Smart play for the Sabres, and for the longer term good of both Mittelstadt and Borgin will b3 to sign them to AHL contracts this year to qualify them for playing in the AHL playoffs...get some great experience in post season play, since both their college teams sh!t the bed in the tourney already.

Then they need to get Casey on a weight training program over the summer...get some upper body strength, so he can do say 5 pull-ups, lol.

I really hope that Housley is in on the tank. If he honestly thinks that 28 and 29 are better options than Bailey, Baptiste and Pouliot, then we are in trouble.

The issue with Scandella is the same issue we’ve had with numerous guys
He’s playing on the 1st pair,
when he should be on the 2nd

but it is a cap era

and we are dead last, with him playing over 1/3 of every game

a small market like buffalo can't pay a center 7.5 mil for 3rd line production even strength

Everything I have read says if they sign an NHL contract, they can’t play in the playoffs.
However, if they sign and AHL contract they cam...however, they don’t burn a year off their NHL contract if they do it this way...why it is difficult to get them to sign and AHL contact...but someone has to talk sense to these guy s about the benefits THEY get by playing in AHL playoffs...and teach them as good team players, self centered decisions aren’t the best.

Personally, I would flip Dahlin to the right side, use Scandella as his partner, push Risto down to 2nd pairing and cut his minutes back.
