Everything I have read says if they sign an NHL contract, they can’t play in the playoffs.
However, if they sign and AHL contract they cam...however, they don’t burn a year off their NHL contract if they do it this way...why it is difficult to get them to sign and AHL contact...but someone has to talk sense to these guy s about the benefits THEY get by playing in AHL playoffs...and teach them as good team players, self centered decisions aren’t the best. - IonSabres
Ok, that’s interesting
I really didn’t know...
was just assuming they wouldn’t be eligible
I hear ya...
but their agent will likely push hard for an NHL contract to “burn the year” off the ELC
I’d like them to play in Roch,
but it’s not gonna kill their development if they don’t
Who knows how much they’d even play in the playoffs?
They wouldn’t have much time to get integrated into the “system”
It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out
Might ust sign them to Buffalo and send down Guhle, Baptiste & Bailey |

the guy was a 7th round pick, disappointment might be a stretch. bad pick overall though - Sabresfan-365
Ok... fair enough...
but if i remember right,
he was drafted outta high school & was the Minnesota player of the year for high school
That gave me hope he’d develop into a legit player... (might be confusing that with Connor Hurley though- definitely a BUST)...
Swing and miss,
but nbd bc he was a 7th round pick like u said |

Personally, I would flip Dahlin to the right side, use Scandella as his partner, push Risto down to 2nd pairing and cut his minutes back.
Scandella Dahlin
McCabe Risto
Guhle Nelson
Guhle travels up the pairings as when deserved and hopefully unseats Scandella, thereby pushing McCabe down to 3rd pairing. - IonSabres
Someone was saying he plays the right side
I just put him in the left bc he’s LH
Wherever he’s most comfortable i guess
The rest we will just figure out
U make good points though |

Carlson probably costs US at least 7mil per,
if not more
And at this point,
we can probably get RNH for LESS
I like the look of your proposed lineup though
Get off NHL’17 & give Botts a shout!

Is any pick made in the 7th round bad though?
I know diamonds have been found there, but the odds are very much against even an NHL player coming from there. |

id say for round 7 you are almost always better off looking at an overager or europe.
As you said, 7th rounders have the odds stacked against, you're better off going high risk high reward. Taking a kid from minnesota is incredibly cliche |

The same Carolina team that doesn't want to pay it's future GM a competitive salary is not going to pay Ryan O'Reilly's bonus heavy contract.
Edit: Skinner also has a no move clause |

Phil also wants a top pick.
He's in on the tank.
Who doesn't want a nhl stud in this draft?
Anyone? - Boss34
I'm just telling you right now this team is (frank)ing terrible there not tanking
Yes Phil Housley is going to purposely tank when he has a family to take care of

I wonder if Beane is 2nd guessing his decision to trade Darius for a 5th.
He MIGHT have been the perfect piece to add onto a trade of 22 up into top7
Giants, Bucs, Chicago could have all used him...would have been a terrific sweetener to reduce the objection to moving so far down. Package him with Ragland and one of those teams gets a pretty significant upgrade to their D. |

He isn’t getting sh!t canned after one season with this roster...they knew he would have some learning and growing pains to go through for a year or two. I think he could be solid, especially when he gets a roster of players who give a crap, have more talent, and can learn a system, any friggin system. |

Mark Friedman signed an ELC last year, played 1 AHL game but was listed on Lehigh Valley's playoff roster.
I wanna say the same would apply to Mittelstadt?
The rule itself was designed to keep teams from stacking their AHL affiliate at the end of their year with older NHL guys. |

Pommer & Vanek we’re TOP 10 last year in this stat in the whole league
Isn’t that enough for u to stop referencing it?
It’s a BS stat - jdfitz77
Thomas Vanek was top 10.
Who had 48 points in 68 games despite playing 3rd line ice time.
Yeah, a stat that helps you account for ice time and missed games is total BS |
