Because there are 4 QBs
Looking at how the draft should play is out part of the GM's job.
Them trading up to the top 5 when they could get that guy at 10 is like paying $300,000 for a house when you know you could get it for $200,000
It is bad asset management. - Stripes77
Not really, because someone else might sneak in and get that house, so now you've got their refrigerator box as a home. |

such as? look if he was making half what he is and playing half the minutes he's getting id understand. Youd take the subtleties of the game over his poor numbers because in that role, it's more about those little plays than the production.
But he's not. He's making 7.5 mil on the cap and getting a poop ton of ice time. He may do all the little things well, but you can't make 7.5 mil based on doing the little things. - Sabresfan-365
don't blame him for that contract |

Not only that, in what world is a 55-60 point center who represents team Canada gonna make 3.75 mil? It's not gonna happen.

You can't drag out negotiations to Februrary, leverage an offer sheet from Calgary then pout your way off the Avs because you want a bigger role for all your leadership throughout the years (lol) and then not take blame for failing to live up to your ridiculous demands.

apparently the players couldn't care less about something like that...and they're the ones who voted him one of the five most underrated players in the league |

He's not. He also shouldn't be considered under rated, in any world.
Under rated would be a guy like Logan Couture, who is a top line center on half the teams in the league, produces like one, and is paid like a good 2nd liner. |

pretty sure ennis represented at the world championship. World cup might be a small step up from that although i watched exactly 0 minutes of it as well so maybe not.
Id put a lot of money on him not making it if they re did those rosters today |

Chris Kunitz was at the Olympics for team Canada.
Ryan Callahan was selected over all star forwards.

CLE Plain Dealer says Allen "alleviated concerns about his 56.2 completion % at Wyoming and kept himself firmly in the conversation for the #Browns No. 1 overall pick." |
