So should we have just drafted a defenseman in the Jack eichel draft I'm just wondering?
We finally found a franchise Center and you think we don't need a franchise quarterback the most important position on the field |

I think half the fanbase will go in the corner.
You go to the playoffs and you're okay with sucking again
Great message - gerbe75pts
So not trading up to get a qb = accepting mediocrity? |

wow.. that is one HELL of a reach for comparison..
1. we didn't have to trade up for eichel
2. he was a MUCH safer pick than any of the QBs
3. we didn't have to trade up for eichel
4. we didn't have to trade up for eichel |

There is not a sure thing in this QB draft compared to the McEichel draft so just stop |

buffalo planned the entire last 2 offseasons around getting their guy this year. they threw a wrench in the plan by being better than expected, but that doesnt change anything. go get a guy or get out of here.
trading up to 12 without knowing you can get into the top 5 after is already a blunder. |

whats the goal for the team? playoff contender or actual contender?
if they draft 6 starters and roll out mccarron then in my eyes its (frank)ed - robz228
I think its more important to be a long term contender and have a team for a young QB to succeed in. If we trade both 1sts and 2nds, we would be severely depleting the talent pool around the QB we select.
I like McCarron more than most, but I agree we need another. I'm surprised though that people think it's either draft a QB or purgatory and no in between. |

I will say it...
The Bills were lucky to make the playoffs
Besides QB play, the Bills had no pass rush, not great LB play, a terrible OL, no WR's, their most inspiring player was Kyle Williams who doesn't have much left in the tank, they have almost no depth, they lost their starting center, and they are hoping that Vonte Davis can stay healthy and return to form to play on the other side of Tre'davious White.
This team is far from being a contender with or without a QB |

You know they have another month to make these trades. And more likely than not, it will be done within 24 hours of the draft. |

The quarterback is the most important position on the field and we have none ..
This franchise is way too safe take a chance for once (QB)

This is what makes the argument so tough. We're not a great team lacking a QB. If we were the Eagles, I'd beat the drum until I was blue in the face. We need so many more players. For (frank) sakes, look at our receivers. Our linebackers. Our offensive line. Sweet Christmas. |

I can see us returning to the playoffs with decent QB play.
Mainly because the AFC is still weak as hell, and besides JAX, HOU and NE, I don't see many up and coming teams. |

then they either are geniuses who see through all the smoke, or they got insanely lucky.
if it works out that way obviously i won't complain, but more likely than not they are getting 5th choice at 12 and then we get to see losman while watching roesthlisberger, manning, and rivers from afar again. |

I expect the Bills to go after a quarterback that is in the top of this draft class. Anything less would be a huge failure in my eyes. They have positioned themselves to do so by their player management, and acquired draft picks.
If they cant move up then I hope they move down and position themselves to take a run at a future draft. Drafting and developing 2nd tier quarterbacks rarely works out and has never worked out for the Bills.

The irony here is that Roethlisberger is the best QB, and was the 3rd one taken.
And I would take Rivers over Manning, so really the first 3 taken were in reverse order in terms of careers |

what are you talking about.. if we trade up it is going to cost more than just the 2 1st from this year.. and its not like we got them because someone didn't want them we actually had to give something to get them. |

the "irony" is that there were 3 sought after qbs and the bills got the 4th one
similar to how its going to (probably) turn out this season if they can't trade up |
