his argument was against the people who say late firsts are a pointless get cause they are "four years away"
assuming you've drafted based on talent and potential instead of tired cliches like "good hockey lineage" or "big body that gets in the dirty areas" it usually doesnt take 4 years for 1st rounders to make some sort of impact. - Sabresfan-365
the word 'impact' might be a little strong here - Michael Pachla
Fair enough. I see your point here. More or less throwing a wood in the fire from the storm we have been having all year that a late-first round pick in return for Kane was not needed.

seems like there's been a battle over a 21st overall pick in here before

He lit a fire under San Jose's collective ass since he got there.
Evander Kane wasn't even close to the problem here. In fact, one of the few bright spots of the tank years, if you ask me.
But I'm not here to sell Evander Kane to you, he's gone and hopefully we get a 1st out of it. - BeadyEyedDouche
As many, many players do after a trade.
And, yes, hopefully they re-sign him and we get our first. I'm rooting for him, but I'm glad he's gone, just like I'll be glad when half of this sorry, gutless, heartless bunch follows him.

Dez kind of sucks now though. Don’t think he’s roasting too many people anymore - sbroads24
Not really, he had an injured year and then not Tony Romo throwing him the ball.
Remember when Randy Moss was done and then he went to the Pats and had one of the best seasons ever? I'm not saying Dez would do that, but he's still got plenty of gas left in the tank.

He’s totally lost a step. Hasn’t had 1000 in 3 years. Moss just didn’t care in Oakland.
