That has nothing to do with a player not being affected by losing?
- LeftCoaster

it does if you can't make moves to surround that player BEFORE it ruins their confidence. I see the Nuge as aplayer of the same ilk , in that it is time to put the right pieces now around him or else he'll fall into that BMO type tweener player

Steve Yzerman also.😁👍

This nonsense about a losing environment is complete BS. When they assemble a talented well balanced team they'll start to win.

Creating a country club environment is a killer though.

Same.

No one remembers these games.

Any player who lets a late season losing streak negatively effect his training/development moving forward isn’t the player who’s going to help you win a cup.

- Nucker101

We do remember these games. I remember when Canucks went on the California trip and won three games and lost out on last place because of those three games. Toronto got Matthews

RNH turned out fine. Bob McKenzie even said heading into the RNH draft that scouts believed that it was a weaker draft year and he was projected as more of a 2LC. Hall turned out fine too, he’s basically carried NJ on his back this year.

Those were surrounded by crap because the Oilers couldn’t draft outside of round 1 and their management made bad moves and had bad cap management.

No one wants the players to give up lol.

We just hope they get outplayed by better teams.

There’s a big difference.

Of course they were, management tanks, not players. It hurts because even a 1% less chance is bad, they need all the help they can get and l save the rest up to luck.

The players always try to win though. Unless they're Russian, then they just don't care as much, except Malkin

i see RNH as a player that could be more just he has been in a role that doesn't make him push his boundaries, the guy has crazy skills and i would love him to come in and replace Hank, maybe a Tanev deal or something ,

i guess the point i'm trying to put into words is the Canucks can play good and beat alot of "good" teams its just the lack of desire to put together multiple streaks , shows me a lack of direction and the fight to just not lose!

Everyone looks at the Oilers and says "see, it doesn't matter" while completely negating to mention weak drafts and completely incompetent management.

they just realeased the numbers and what does 2 last get percentage wise? 13% and 3rd 10% its not enough to go against the boys trying , i see growth from JV down the stretch and if hes the only one to benefit , its still worth it IMO

Lower we finish the better our odds for the highest pick.
Other side of the coin is the probability is higher that we drop in draft.
All said the only fact is rounds 2-7 picks remain constant other than we have no 4th & the 5-7 rounds are worth taking chances.

Oilers have used him as a shutdown C since they got McJ/Drai, he can still produce in an offensive role as a 2LC. He and Drai are the only ones on that team that can actually produce without McJesus. I hope Chiarelli isn’t fired lol. I think he might trade RNH next, hopefully for someone like Ceci or Ryan Murray lol

I don’t think he would have turned out be a legit 1LC if drafted by another team, he is what he is.

Yup. Players like Bo and Brock will be pushing the new players to be solid, hardworking, team players.
Taylor Hall was in a losing environment for years and appears to be having a very good season.
Quality players will rise above some losing seasons and excel when it is there time.
Although, I would be very disappointed if any players on my team played for a tank, I can see management manipulating the lineup by shutting players down, inserting plugs like Dowd into lineup and calling up an inexperienced defenseman over a veteran, to help facilitate maybe not winning.
Sometimes, though, it doesnt workout and the players actually win a game or 2.

very rarely is there a Savior in the amateur draft , but as vegas showed this season anything is possible in a team game with players of similar skills, so that being said there is no reason the Nucks can't compete soon shrewd roster moves and some growth from young players and this team can compete

More like youth is inconsistent & injuries hurt us greatly as it does to many teams.

the best you can hope for is like 18.5 , not even a in 5 chance , so just play it out and get lucky

True & the only plan is ignore luck and be ready regardless. We more than likely will be one the best at a prospect pool if not the tops soon enough.

Stars skaters played like poop too, they have some serious depth issues. Rely way too much on Benn/Seguin/Kling/Radulov, rest of the lineup kinda sucks offensively.

Hanzal/Spezza were supposed to be a big part of their secondary scoring. They have 12 goal combined lol.

They desperately need to rebuild their 2nd/3rd/4th lines. Not enough speed/skill.

I really wish Hughes was taller lol, that guy can skate and handle the puck.

I agree with Vantel that Benning is likely targeting Boqvist.

I like Hughes but if its in a trade down scenario. This draft gives us options for many players & trade partners. If nothing comes of it then then there was no serious offer to be a no brainer.
