Yes, the dude is done. His body is literally breaking down. I used to want to keep Tanev and trade Edler but that would have been a mistake. Keep Edler around as our top 4 vet and ditch Tanev for whatever they can get before the draft
- CanuckDon

i've wanted to move Tanev for a while now.
Sadly i think that window has closed, until at least he can show that he can stay healthy for more than a couple weeks.

i think Carlson will be priced out for the Canucks.
- dbot

Hence TRY lol
What is he worth to us?
We need offense so is it $6.5m or more?

As u said above & if Tanev traded his cap can be used.

I'm expecting Gaudette out 4-6 weeks against the Ducks.

More.
Top scoring Dman in the league.
28 years old
6'3 220

i'd say easily 7.5+

He's gonna be in demand.
Absolutely zero reasons why he would chose to sign in Vancouver.

Why would the most coveted free agent want to play here?

i think we'd have offer closer to 9.5 for him to even consider signing with this hot mess.
Even then...

I think there is zero chance he signs here.

Now, Evander Kane on the other hand...

Wave the white flag & sit on the cap space.
Well no effort is no results.

Washington can easily offer $7.5, and if they buy out Orpik they could pay him more.

Vancouver would have to extremely overpay to get him to consider coming here, he has zero ties to the west coast, American, and has about 5 years remaining on being an impact player, which would hopefully be when Vancouver makes the playoffs again

How about we just build through the draft, like most Stanley Cup champs in my lifetime.
Sign a good UFA or 2 when we get good again.
Enough of this nonsense of signing the top free agents available for our superpoop team.
Let this new group grow together and see where we are.

Thats the smart move. In case people dont understand this is the worst team in the league. Signing 1 UFA is doing absolutely nothing for this team. We need to add as many picks and legit prospects as possible over the next couple years.

When the team starts to turn the corner then add your missing pieces via free agency and not before.

Agreed. Play with with what we have and if necessary take on a bad contract at tdl with not much term for picks.

This Greyhound team has a ton of skill...wow.
Barrett Hayton is definitely a very good centre.

Also this kid is pretty impressive. Also a free agent.

Sign the big UFA's when the team is good enough that those players want to be a part of it

I believe it was ASL, that kept saying, "we are 3 years away, from being 3 years away".
If we count this season, we have 2 more seasons before we are starting to get closer too being 3 years away.
POSITIVITY👍

Sign any good UFA whenever you can if the price is liveable & can fit into the cap management plan.
