Tanev's injury status will most likely kill us in that trade. We missed the boat. - LordHumungous
Then I’d rather risk holding him until the TDL next year. He plays more than 41 games per season, just pray that he’s healthy at that part of the season lol |

A big difference is that AG put up big numbers last year and also very solid production in his freshman year. It's not like he came out of no where when he turned 20. - CanuckDon
A lot of players leave College after putting up numbers like he did last season. |

Pretty sure that's the point of what Biech was trying to get at. We as Canucks fans think that Gaudette is the best product in the NCAA right now because he won the scoring race and is up for the Hobey Baker. Gaudette could be a bust coming the NHL.
Probably 5 or more every year that put up the similar numbers. Whether they progress or not. Leave college or stay. - manvanfan
No, Biech literally stated that every team has a similar prospect in college right now.
I’m saying that only some team do, others might, have one but they haven’t had a prospect prove it yet. Some of the younger prospects will progress like Gaudette, others won’t. To project all of them to have similar age 20/21 seasons like Guadette is ridiculous.
I don’t think Gaudette is a bluechip prospect like EP. He could very well become a very solid middle 6 C, an average 3rd liner or just not become a long-term NHL’er. All depends on his his game translates. |

I’d be curious to see the list of players who put up the numbers he did during his age 19/20 season. I’m sure there are some guys we’ve never heard of, but I’m curious to see how many. |

No love for Malkin today. The guy has played, arguably, his best season, even when Pittsburgh was struggling.
Blake Wheeler, having a great season, even filled in as #1centre, when Scheiffle was injured.
Just my 2 cents. - Reubenkincade
Both are also worthy. Actually anyone who leads their team to success WINNING is in the running. Losers can watch the award given |

Disappointed. No one has written a lineup with Gaudette in top 6 yet.😁 - Reubenkincade
Is that my cue? 😂😂 |

Colorado goes from last to wildcard Edmonton goes from 2nd in the pacific to non-playoff team. I, personally, don't see how you can look at the two lineups and say Edmonton's is worse. Not that much has changed and Colorado has clearly responded well to an awful year. - neem55
That McDavid sure is a great leader as a C |

At this point, it's more likely that he won't become a top 6 NHL'er than not. Anyone who's still projecting him to become a legit top 6 player is going against the odds. - Nucker101
I peg him as a 3C |

Still think having a team full of choir boys is boring(unless it’s actually a really good team of course). I like having some players that other teams hate. - Nucker101

Tryamkin's high standards and expectations can only be met playing in the KHL?
Despite them trying to convince him to go play with the Comets, I don't think Benning and Linden were all that much of an issue. I believe Desjardins and Lidster pissed him off, and he was too young and immature to deal with that on top of being isolated in a completely new culture.
I doubt he'll be back next year, but chances are probably good for the 2019/20 season. He'll be 25 then and hopefully more mature. - YeOldTimer
Sounds good to me & a likely scenario also. |

Yes, the dude is done. His body is literally breaking down. I used to want to keep Tanev and trade Edler but that would have been a mistake. Keep Edler around as our top 4 vet and ditch Tanev for whatever they can get before the draft - CanuckDon
I think Tanev has a lot of value, but just not on a Canucks team where he's getting drilled on the forecheck and playing 70% of the game in his own end.
Its a tough sell to tell another GM "for you he'd be great, he's only good/okay for us because we suck" but some GM is going to go out in the first round in 6 games losing 5&6 by like a combined 9-3. Thats where Jimbo's gotta start doing his (frank)ing job. |
