I hate those F'kers from Dallas ever since that insulting interview Benn and F'ck-face gave about the Sedins.
- Beatle_john

If we hated everyone that said something insulting about the Sedins we’d literally hate everyone, including ourselves.

the irony is Markstrom would be a good goalie for a team that can score 3 goals

if funny on here that people keep saying we wont win the lottery so who cares if we are dead last? yet the "fans" are cheering to lose ? we will lose our fair share , so in the meantime lets enjoy screwing up other teams seasons

the team found the gem 2 of the 3 last drafts it would seem, so just do that with any pick we get

win to influence the future

the future is now , as Vegas shows you can start from nowhere and be a competitive team you just have to team build and get lucky

It’s mainly 2 things

1) If we finish last(no longer gonna happen) or 2nd last then we get a higher 2nd and 3rd round pick as well

2) It makes our worst case scenario of dropping 2-3 spots easier to swallow. If we finish 2nd last then even if we fall 1-3 spots, we’re still picking Top 5

It would be pretty annoying to go through such a crappy season and end up picking 7th in the draft

i know you see the odds , but we do have young guys integrated in the system so winning some games is worth the potential drop , assuming we move from our position at all

we can win by just finding the 2nd best player in this draft no matter where we draft, thats all im saying and i see our scouting as an emerging strength

Horvat will be fine if he’s losing these games, I don’t think it’s going to turn him into a career loser. He’s already had a taste of the playoffs.

The rest of the young guys in the lineup right now are long shots to even become future core players(Top 4D/Top 6F) so I honestly don’t think winning some meaningless games down the stretch does more good than a guaranteed top 5 pick in this draft does.

The Canucks won some games against the California teams on a late season road trip during the Matthews draft year. I doubt anyone who played in those games even remembers them or thinks about them.

For sure, if you have a strong scouting staff then you should be fine. But even then, having a strong scouting staff + higher pick >> strong scouting staff + lower pick

If they can keep finding more EP’s and Boeser’s to draft then tanking to finish the season won’t matter. We’ll see how things unfold.

I hope they lose out from here, losing/draft position is more important than the players feelings.

We’ve got some really nice prospects, but we need that number one pick this year because we desperately need the defencemen it’s going to turn into.

Rounds 2 thru 7 are becoming so increasingly important as well. It's not just finding guys in round one, it's finding guys like Marchand in round three, as an example.

Same.

No one remembers these games.

Any player who lets a late season losing streak negatively effect his training/development moving forward isn’t the player who’s going to help you win a cup.

I remember Joe Sakic going through four years of hell at the bottom of the league with Quebec before they started to win, good players plow through that poop and when you build a team around them you'll start to win.

Exactly. If anything, it’s easier to weed out the loser mentalities when things get tough. It’s easy to get up for games when things are going well.

they also had Lindros to trade for a 1/3 of a team and forsberg and got to trade for one of the best goalies ever ,

That has nothing to do with a player not being affected by losing?

they just realeased the numbers and what does 2 last get percentage wise? 13% and 3rd 10% its not enough to go against the boys trying , i see growth from JV down the stretch and if hes the only one to benefit , its still worth it IMO
