So, what you're saying is that JT Miller is a player that should be traded at some point. - Tonybere
I think under a new coach Miller would’ve thrived. AV has to go, and then I’ll lose it bc we traded Miller bc AV hated him |

Putting the coach aside on whether people think he should stay or should go, the player needs to be accountable for playing like a bum. Too many playoff games without production. Too much time spent refusing to back check. Too many dumb penalties and mistakes. If the Rangers are going to rebuild with a young team the older presences in that locker room have to be people that lay it on the line, and I am not sure JT Miller is a guy that I want young players learning from.
Maybe he changes at some point, but he wasn't my cup of tea and I am not crying any tears that he's gone even if we can argue that the value in that deal should have been better.

I liked Miller. I get why others didn't. My biggest issue was trading him for a guy that is garbage. Yzerman sold high and we bought very high on a bum. |

Gardiner did really appear to be a good sport about it. Awesome from the kid's perspective. Gardiner's reaction seemed strange. - Pete V
he gave the kid a nice two hander in the beginning and I think the other guy tells the kid to go after him |

I think it's unfair to call VN garbage, we've seen him play 12 games in a Rangers uniform. He's a former first rounder with plenty of talent. |

Plus this guy basically got kicked in the nuts going from the top seed in the East to out of the playoffs. That has got to be tough to take.
If he is around for next season and not shipped out, I would hope to see a guy with a solid outlook for this team. |

as long as he isnt asking for anything over 4.25 I would sign him for 3-4 years and see what he has next year (hopefully) with a new coach. I think he would be an easy guy to deal at the deadline if hes got around 40 points if they were still in the stockpiling picks mode |

no, but why lose a year on the deal of you can easily avoid it?

Maybe Gorts didn't care. He got the 2 prospects he wanted in that trade and we are hearing rumblings now that there were things about Miller the team didn't care for. In Stinky they got someone back that MAY claim a spot going forward, or he's a trade chip to bring back the a higher pick at the draft or another piece later on.
Can't say as I'm losing much sleep over it in March. |

Not gonna get much seeing that he's an RFA w/ arbitration rights.
Its a wash either way. Miller wasn't going to be resigned and Vlad doesn't seem to fit in anywhere when you consider, Hayes, Zibby, Andersson, Chytil are at C |

I agree. I mean, I liked Miller. He looked like he had good upside and he also mixed in a bit of nasty to his game, but I don't know what he was like in the locker room or the intricacies of his relationship with the coaching staff, and likely we never will. Was his exit part of a deeper rebuild that might have included a change of culture? that, to me, seems more likely. |
