2016 was puljujarvi, tkachuk and keller available at 6

2015 marner at 4, provorov and werenski available at 6

2014 bennett #4, nylander/ehlers/fleury available at 6

2013 Jones #4, Monahan, nurse, horvat available at 6

2012 Griffin reinhart at 4, Hampus Lindholm, Trouba, Forsberg available at 6


The only one that looks legitimately better is 2013.

Yes but with the first overall pick you have the highest odds of picking in the top 3 as well. To ignore anything before pick 4 is irrelevant considering we have almost as high of a chance picking 1-3 then we do at 4. If you'd like to go through picks 1-3 in those same drafts and rehash the argument then by all means.

I dont think hes the star people make him out to be. I think the organization has whiffed (to varying degrees) on 3/4 top 10 picks before him so he looks special by comparison.

I could see him being our version of Marner or something like that.

The Bills were lucky to make the playoffs

Besides QB play, the Bills had no pass rush, not great LB play, a terrible OL, no WR's, their most inspiring player was Kyle Williams who doesn't have much left in the tank, they have almost no depth, they lost their starting center, and they are hoping that Vonte Davis can stay healthy and return to form to play on the other side of Tre'davious White.

This team is far from being a contender with or without a QB

If he's on the first PP, he tops 50. If he's not, he doesn't. All points are not created equal.

I think people are going to be shocked at how skilled Mittelstadt is.

His vision is nuts. It's like Reinhart's, but he can actually skate and shoot

This is what makes the argument so tough. We're not a great team lacking a QB. If we were the Eagles, I'd beat the drum until I was blue in the face. We need so many more players. For (frank) sakes, look at our receivers. Our linebackers. Our offensive line. Sweet Christmas.

You have to draft really well for this to work though.

With all these picks, some could bust and you'd still be ok.

I think he is going to be a 45-57 point guy. I am not really excited about him. I think all of Dahlin, Zadina, and Svechnikov will be better than Mittelstadt, so I am hoping we get one of them.

I watched Allen in 4 or 5 games this year
He struggled badly in all but 1 half from what i saw
I know Wyoming was bad,
but it looked to me like he couldn’t figure out where to go with the ball
And that was againstvteams like Hawaii & Fresno state
His inaccuracy is pretty well documented as well

Raw talent, for sure
But also has big bust potential imo
I’d be terrified if we picked him
