I agree, although we need him badly, because we have 2 centres for next season and beyond. - Reubenkincade
Sutter Horvat Gaudette and Petterson. That's 4. Also scraps like Gaunce and Dowd who hopefully won't return. |

Idk if EP will be a C or at least at the start.
Nothing wrong with Gaunce or Dowd.
Sutter is a horrible playmaker. |

You don't think Sutter is a decent bottom 6 center? |

so? what are you proposing? he doesn't play center anymore? He is a fine shut down center. |

If deep enough at C he’s a better winger as for puck distribution problems. |

I think as a 4th line center he's fine. I think anything higher than that he doesn't have glue to his skills to be one.
For a guy who likes to talk about his balls and grit, he does more flybys than anyone on the roster and has Gagner levels of game along the boards. He can win a draw, skate around (out of position), and find his way into shooting lanes.
If he was Brandon Putter and not Sutter people wouldn't think of him as more than a Mark Letestu or Vern Fiddler. |

In a shutdown role & PK I’m good with it.
However thats it. |

I have a feeling EP will come in as a center. If he struggles he will be moved. Gaunce Gagner and Granlund can also pitch in while players develop |

he gets caved in whenever he steps on the ice against moderate competition, let alone top lines. The best shutdown center on the team is Bo even with a poor defensive game because he can get the puck out of his end so the shot parade stops. |

His first two years in college were at wing, played center this year and before college. |

He starts 70% of his shifts in the D zone against the top competition on the team. He handles it fine. We need a vet to take the trash shifts so the youngs have offensive opportunities. |

and thats fine. but that doesn't make him a shutdown center. it makes him a punching bag on skates. |

i am refering to proven NHL players, if Henrik is not back.
I believe Kole Lind is a player that will surprise at camp and make the team, but not going to say he can/will be on the roster next season, just like I wont with Gaudette or Petterson. |

Wouldn’t make sense he starts as a C.
Wing is the easiest way to break in. |

I not worried about the position he'll play, I'm more worried about his weight. |

if he breaks in as a wing then he's probably sticking on the wing
which means this team isn't getting out of this rebuild unless Gaudette is Jeff Carter. |
