Have you ever seen Putin play hockey? He plays a promoted game every year and the clip I saw two years ago had me laughing. He comes down the ice on a crazy legs breakaway, scores and cant stop and crashes into the net/boards iirc.

and no one checks him or passes to anyone but him because they don't want to be thrown into prison.

its always a big story how he scored 17 goals in his charity game while datsyuk or Kovalchuk managed like 2

EP is 160. 20 pounds of muscle is fairly significant. I know you don't like being wrong, but just stop.
- neem55

EP is not 160 anymore.

Yeah my cousins says Gagner is closer to 5'9" then 5'11". He was eye to eye with him in Mexico. I think the NHL gives them the benefit of the doubt

Isn't Gionta listed at 5'9? A friend of mine, who is a legit 5'8 met him once and he said "I felt like I was a normal sized human next to him"

That play center? Name one.

He is 160 pounds right right now, what he will be is in the fantastical land of Jesus, Astrology and Wishful thinking.

- neem55

I read he was 168....If so, 175 is reasonable.

Very possible.

Biggest thing we need to worry about now is Kesler taking a run at Gaudette tomorrow night...

Isnt Kesler tired of getting beat up by kids...

Wasn't Marner a thin bastard when he first played?

That's a pretty reliable source. Nice. 175 is within reasonable reach then, not as much of a hill as I thought.

There's a difference between holding weight, which is admittedly easier when you're already smaller, than managing to go upwards over the course of a season.

It's not that it can't be done, its just that I don't buy how every prospect manages to put on 10-15-20lbs of muscle, reportedly, during every season until they make the team.

- Lindenis#1

I could see 8 lbs a summer of proper muscle.

NHL.com. hockeydb, and elite prospects all have him 160-165

It'd be optimistic but possible.

I think he'd be better off in the AHL regardless

I doubt hockeydb or elite prospects updates a players weight frequently. Perhaps he was listed at 161 at the combine. Anyone recall? I believe he was 168 at training camp but I can't find a quote.

He's going to be a thin cracker one way or another.

If EP showed occasional troubles in the SHL at current weight I'd be concerned. He may have to make a huge adjustment in NA but there are no flags presently imo.

I can go up and down 7 lbs in a month easily. Just depends on the amount of hot dogs, strength training and small amounts of cardio I do.

Seriously, if these were accurate then the top prospect weight gain program is phenomenal.

I think I put on 4lbs over St Patty's weekend. But 0% of that was muscle.

If he does put on a lot of weight. Lose his mobility. His shiftiness is key to his game.

Yeah for sure. I don`t doubt he`ll make it, I just think some more development might be in order. Datsyuk played at around 175 for his first multiple years and only developed a year in KHL. It could happen, I`m abetting man though and I don`t see it unless HankรฉDank retire.

I don't recall what his combine weight was and that's why I am asking. All I recall reading is that his weight was up to 168 (believe it was training camp). I gained 9 pounds in the last 6 weeks. It's not that hard to add weight. The key is that he adds mass the right way and doesn't lose speed.
