hate them if they decided to move on to a different team after stating they won't waive because Van is their home and won't play for anyone else.
I think fans would be upset that they moved on to try and win a cup, but would not get traded to help the team and chase a cup.

Yes, that's this entire discussion. OJ put on weight last year and showed up sluggish. Jake two years ago. Its mindblowing how it happens every year to a prospect or two for each team. They bulk up, work with the team, and then show up to camp like "oh (frank) right cardio. poop i forgot!"

I tried camp one year in college at about 188 and I had never felt so useless my entire life trying to play hockey at about 5lbs higher than I was used to.

Jake was working out with the Twins all summer, when he wasn't it was with either the team trainers or trainers they hired for him, and was eating meals prepped by the team chef most of the summer.

And still showed up fat.

No. There was more to his summer than that. He admitted he spent too much time "socializing" and we heard enough stories of him locally partying it up with his sister and friends a little too much. He also claimed the team wanted him to bulk up but not at the club I imagine.

At some point you'd think they'd be like "hey wtf is this ponch kiddo?" and make a thing of it.

There was outrage from a few posters for his treatment by WD at the beginning of the season and when I posted the pic of JV's fat ass sitting on a stool, people started to understand why he fell out of favour in camp/early season.

I swear they were involved with him all summer. I remember it being a big deal and a talking point until he showed up to camp and everyone said "Who's the schlubby guy?"

Maybe it was part and part. I remember the Twins were apparently with him through a good part of the summer.
