Bc if those guys are in the lineup,
then Bailey & Baptiste aren’t getting playing time
And we can’t send them down
No point to them sitting in the press box

And if they “fall on there face” then we have about half a dozen other guys we can call up from Rochester next year

And even if they ALL fall on their face,
the worst that happens is we just end up with a better draft pick


So unless there’s upside to bringing in however many “Pouliots”
I just don’t see the value to doing so

We’ve had too many years where guys who were called up were named Varone Or Criscolo or whoever.

He was saying all the right things.

Best thing for him is to go play in the CFL for a few years prove he’s a changed person. Someone will give him a shot.

I think some people are over-rating the prospect quality of Baptiste, Bailey, Fasching, Smith, O'Reagan, Olofsson, etc. Most of these guys are 2nd and 3rd tier prospects, with bottom 6 projections. It looks like Baptiste has stepped to the front of that pack, and he's shown the most of that group. He still looks like a 3rd line guy to me.

So, you take a chance at guys like Pouliot because they need to put a better team on the ice next year and they have a better chance at being good players. Keep in mind, a stronger wave of prospects is starting to sign with the organization. Depth guys get their chances. ERod and Nelson took full advantage of theirs.

For as poor as Bailey has supposedly played for us, he’s on pace for 19goals over a full season
You even said Baptiste looks pretty decent

These guys need icetime to show what they can do
And if they can’t, then so be it...

But having Pouliot & Griffith PREVENTS US from seeing how Bailey & Baptiste would do

And IF they suck...
O’Regan, Smith, Nylander, Asplund, Olofsson, and Pu...
all guys who could be called up that might be part of the future here

He does nothing

But he’s gonna be gone even with that 15 goal season bc of his age.

So
The net result, is that it was pointless to have him here

-like Pouliot, not enough to help us in the standings significantly...
but now we know he can be a piece of the puzzle moving forward (bc he’s still young)

He busts
-in which case, you bring up O’Regan or Smith to see what they can/can’t do

Seems like this has shifted from Bailey, Baptiste, O’Regan, Smith, and Fasching all being on the opening night roster to just Bailey and Baptiste. It all likelihood, there's two spots there for the taking with their names penciled in. Still wouldn't be shocked to see Bailey moved this summer though.
