ROR's total points all game states is 53 in 75 so .716(hah) points per game
other 51-55 point centres at similar GP (ill do 73-77) include
derek stepan (6.5 mil)
JT Miller(2.75 mil)
Jonathan Toews(10.5 mil)
Nazem Kadri(4.5 mil)
Matt Duchene(6 mil)
I'll keep the outliers like toews and miller in so that averages out but ill take out ELC players. That averages out to 6.05 mil
since the devaluing of PP around here is like calling the earth round circa 1640, ill look at primary points all game states, ROR has 44 in 75, .586 ppg
other comparisons at centre in the 43-47 range include:
Kadri(4.5mil)
pavelski(6 mil)
Schenn (5.1 mil)
Average AAV here is 5.2 mil
Now the nitty gritty hogwarts stats that everyone will likely dismiss as me being a douche:
here's 5v5 points, because you know, hardest game state to score and all may or may not be a better way to judge whether someone can move the needle or not
ROR has 19 5v5 points in 75 games .253 ppg (ranks outside the top 200)
other players at centre with 17-21 5v5 points, a similar ppg and amount of games:
Matt cullen (1mil)
Mikko Koivu(6.75 mil)
Vladamir Sobotka(3.5 mil)
Valtteri Filppula(5 mil)
Average AAV here is 4.06 mil
5v5 primary points, ROR has 15 in 75, so .2 per game
comparisons at 13-17 primary points in similar GP include
Mikko Koivu (6.75 mil)
JG Pageau (3.1 mil)
Cody Eakin (3.85 mil)
Kyle Brodziak (950k)
Brock Nelson (2.5 mil)
Riley Sheahan (2.75 mil)
Mikael Backlund (5.35 mil, deal kicks in next year)
Matt Cullen( 1 mil)
Jordan Staal (6 mil)
Elias Lindholm (2.7 mil)
Derek Stepan(6.5 mil)
Derek Ryan (1.425 mil)
average AAV is 3.57 mil
so total points, primary points all game states, 5v5 points and primary points at 5v5
6.05, 5.2, 4.06, 3.57
Depending on how you want to weigh each category that's anywhere from 4-5 mil level production. I obviously weigh 5v5 and primary points heavier so closer to 4 mil imo.
Now i eagerly await the post about how dzone starts and faceoffs bridges the 3.5 million dollar gap. (not from you obviously) - Sabresfan-365

Okposo or Reinhart would probably have to go if they draft an NHL-ready, top-6 RW, unless they shift to the left - jcragcrumple
Okposo can go? Bring on the used puck bag. Sold. |

I like him, but for $6m, and playing the least valuable position, imo, yeah.
Bogo
Pominville
Moulson
Okposo
21 million out of 78 mil in cap space, or 26% |

Id be cool with letting the other three contracts run their course if we could just shed okposos. Way to much term on that one for my liking. |

Okposos 5 more years at 6M is a way bigger anchor imo. Especially with the log jam we have at rw here. If we get one or the rws at the top of the draft this year that deal looks even worse. |

I don't think Bogo or Okposo are tradeable. I expect Moulson to be bought out, and Pommer back. |

I'm hoping that Moulson getting to pick where he played this year was a favor for him and that he'll retire. Probably a pipe dream, I know.
I'd buyout Bogo, waive Moulson if he doesn't retire, and then hope the next lockout brings an amnesty buyout for Okposo.

who is going to take on that contract though ? At least if you end up with one of the wingers at the top of the draft you put each player in the best place to succeed. Reinhart ideally is a 2RW. Okposo at this point in his career is an ideal 3RW if he can have a good offseason and play alongside ROR.

There will be compliance buyouts in new CBA. We will be fine, he will be gone. |

Just looked it up, Moulson only has 3 mil in real salary next year. Maybe he will just collect his $1m signing bonus and retire |

Buying out Moulson just lets everyone move on. It's a small cap savings. Retirement would mean a cap recapture penalty. Not a big deal, but like you said, it's probably not going there anyways.
I don't think they can buyout Bogo. The injury prevents it. |
