Bailey was up on emergency basis and if we played him, we wouldn't be able to recall anyone else ie Nylander or Smith.

I believe Criscuolo will be sent back down as soon as he's taken off IR

He has more development to endure, but yes he will be a long term piece unless he's included in a trade for a top pairing dman under 24. No doubt.

I always liked Kane but never thought of him as a player to build around, more of a complimentary piece.

He is in a good place in San Jose. They have a lot of talent and a strong core group.

I hope he does well there.

Agreed. He's a guy you bring in when your team is established. Just wish we could have traded him for his on ice worth. It's going to be hard for the Sharks to walk away from him, hopefully.

Going out on a bit of a limb here, but I believe botts is trying to change this. By trading guys like Kane. Not saying I know him, not saying he's a 'bad guy' to have in there. But there's a lot of evidence that suggests he's not a culture-process guy.

A team can bring in a player like Kane once they have their core in place where it's not going to disrupt the group.

Adding Kane to a team that is rebuilding well, look at the Sabres, it didn't work
