I think ROR is here for another year, to take the pressure off Mitts for one season, then JBotts moves him next off-season.

I mean mostly in the "pecking order" and in terms of popularity with the fans. It seems RoR is a bit sensitive to that kind of stuff.

If you want to be number one in the fans hearts, go put up 80 - 100 points, you haven't yet. Therefore, enjoy your role. The fans see potential in Casey and Jack, you are a model of consistency 50 - 60 points per year. You're a good and consistent player but not a super star.

There is something to be said about his personal accountability in front of the camera, that's laudable. I HOPED that would transfer to him being a vocal leader calling people out specifically for their lack of performance but that doesn't seem to have happened. If it has, it certainly hasn't shown up in the results.

I feel like his stance is, quality centers are hard to come by, so you hold onto them when you have them. So now I'm thinking there's no way he's traded unless the Sabres are upgraded in the short and long term.

I would agree, ROR is a quality center. Great on face offs, solid production consistently, seems like a pretty good guy. ROR is not the problem.........his contract is.

Edit: If the Sabres draft and develop well, I think they can get around it, particularly if the cap keeps going up. But currently, it looks like he's paid beyond his production. Though he is a better contract than Okposo right now.

We'll see how the minutes are dispersed. I would ecstatic if we can now look forward to ROR playing 18-19 minutes a night with Mitts taking some pressure off. I think we'd see a much better product, and ROR would eventually see the value in it

what are the projected lines for this evenings crap fest..

i think we all need to temper our expectations of Mitts at this point. Watching some college highlights, he got knocked around quite a bit. He needs to add some strength. I assume these few games will make that clear to him and i hope he hits the gym this summer.
