Jason Pominville - 5 on 5

Leads team in Goals for %
8th in Scoring chances for %
2nd in Corsi for %
1st in on-ice Goals for per 60
3rd in points per 60
4th in shots per 60
Tied for 2nd in 5 on 5 points

....He can still play a decent role

- sbroads24

So Pommer is top2 in 4 of 8 of those categories
Just goes to show how USELESS those stats can be

Because he’s NOWHERE CLOSE to being one of our top2 forwards this season

This doesn’t make a case that Pommer is a good player
It ruins theses stats as a measure of who is

Eichel
—————
O’Reilly
Kane
Reinhart
—————
—————
—————
Okposo
Pominville
—————
Others

Based on their play this season

And the gap between our 4 best forwards & Okposo & Pominville was pretty significant

Anyone with EYES who actually WATCHED the games can see that my list is a hell of a lot more accurate than saying Pommer was a top2 forward for us (which he was ranked in half of those stats u just posted)

Thank you, thank you, thank you...
for showing just how WRONG it can be to judge players based on some of these anayl

How did u not see this backfiring for you?!

This is where posters like Fitz (no offense Fitz) don't understand why relative numbers matter more than overall.

Of course Pommers overall numbers were better on a better team, but he still has good numbers this year relative to his teammates.

O'Reilly is like 6th-10th in most of these categories

- sbroads24

Which is why judging off these numbers is ludicrous

U really wanna try to say Pommer is our 2nd or 3rd best forward & O’Reilly is somewhere between 6-10?

Wtf man?!

- TheHank

My favs, pretty much in order:
Super Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3
(didn’t like the original Mario Bros)
Legend of Zelda (didn’t really like the 2nd)
Techmo Super Bowl (better than the 1st)
Mike Tyson’s punchout
Mega Man 2 (didn’t have the other ones)
RBI baseball (can still tell u the player stats)
Ice Hockey (didn’t like Blades of steel)
Metroid
Kid Icarus
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
T&C Surf design
Skate or die
Ghosts & Goblins
Pro Wrestling
Double dribble

I’m probably forgetting some though

Some popular ones i didn’t really play, and that u didn’t mention:
Castlevania(s)
Rad racer
Duck hunt
Excite bike
Double dragon

Again, probably forgetting some

I’d move Okposo up. He was actually playing decently, getting his game back...then boom the next concussion happened. I think he really, seriously needs to consider his futture in hockey. One more hit could be one too many for him. Sad, as I do think he can be a solid contributor... just in a lesser role..say like 3rd line (when they get good snipers in top 6)

Pommer, for next season should be on the 4th. I’m not in the locker room, but from what other, younger players have said he does provide good leadership from a professional approach to the game perspective. If that helps one or two of the youngins be a better pro, it was worth it.

Marleau? Really?
- Sabresfan-365

Yes, really. The vet who is second to Ovie in goals scored over the last 10 years and whom I would take on my team a thousand times over Pommer, every day.

Another big day in the race for last:

* Ottawa @ Detroit (maybe)
* Columbus @ Vancouver (doesn't matter)
* Blues @ Arizona (Blues played last night, Yotes win)
* Sabres @ Nashville ( smh)

No, I’m saying Pominville is playing his role better than O’Reilly is. By far

If/When we lose tonight I’d say there is a 99% chance we finish last barring some kind of winning streak against the likes of Toronto, Florida, Tampa

I think Toronto beats us on Monday as they'll be fired up for that one. I'm hoping it doesn't come down to the Florida trip next weekend but if it does ...... I sure hope Florida hasn't been eliminated by then.

If the Sabres finish last and do not win the lottery I would love to see a statistical analysis of the chances of a team finishing last and not winning the lottery 3 times. I'm not mathematically gifted enough to do it.

Eeli Tolvanen is playing tonight for the Preds... He'll probably score his first goal.
