Gerbe is first in with his draft prediction of Jake Wise being a future star.
All others are welcome, as long as they're before the draft. The two days of the draft are welcome as well when players picked lower then a person expects are called out.
It'll be fun to keep track and see how easy, or not easy, it is to pick future high impact players before the draft, like Barzal or Pastrnak for example. - kingcong39
I mean he’s projected to go in the first round but I think Jesperi Kotkaniemi could be one of those guys that gets selected a lot higher then people think. Good numbers in the Finnish Elite League. As well as Ryan Merkley defenseman from Guelph whose projected to go between 25-30. Could be a McAvoy type that people regret not taking earlier. Saving the best for last.... Boqvist being better than Dahlin if given the right amount of time to develop. (1-2 years in SHL, 1 year in AHL). |

That’s a ballsy prediction
Boqvist has plenty of offensive talent,
but he’s got a lot of work to do defensively to even get semi-close to Dahlin
His size will limit him in his own end to a degree as well
Not that he can’t be effective in his own end,
but it’ll be a surprise if he ever dominates defensively |

Absolutely not. Boqvist being better is the boldest of bold predictions. Was just being creative. Probably a 5% chance he ends up being better. However his skill set is very appealing and would not be surprised if we took him at 3 or 4. |

Boqvist might end up being good, but right now that's like LA having said, "Let's trade down 1 spot and take Bogosian over Doughty."

I think Boqvist could put up offensive numbers that can exceed Dahlin or at the very least be close to par. But yes the defensive game isn’t close. Boqvist is one month away from being in the 2019 draft however. So really this kid is a year younger then everyone else he’s being compared to. |

Still waiting for your words of wisdom...
or is bashing other ppl all u can contribute?

Ya trading out of that spot would be like trading McDavid for Mitch Marner. Good player but not McDavid |

Well if he thinks Boqvist will be better,
then it’s a no brainer to trade down
I wouldn’t do it though
I’d want a ton to trade down,
and i wouldn’t go past 3
Boqvist, Hughes & the rest of the defensemen in the second tier are a pretty far step below Dahlin
And all need quite a bit of development defensively, even though they have some really nice offensive skills

If you get 1 you select Dahlin no questions asked. But if you’re at 3 then there could be a discussion for selecting him over one of the wingers if you really believe in his skill set |

This isn't even like a McEichel thing. I'm sure no GM thinks Boqvist is even on par with Dahlin. |

I remember ppl on here saying how Hurley would be a top pick if his bday had him in the following draft
Idk that the age thing is a big factor?
Even for someone who’s 11months younger, they’ve still been playing against that same competition for years at this point
Not that body development isn’t a factor
I just think it’s exaggerated somewhat

I’d probably take Boqvist over Tkachuk
But idk that i would over Zadina,
and definitely not over Svechnikov
Boqvist has questions about how good he can be defensively,
so that worries me when it comes to choosing him over someone i view as a sure-fire sniper
I get your point though
Depends what Botts & the scouts think about him |
