If you watched the juniors and are basing your opinion off of that, Svechnikov gets drafted 25th.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for what I've read, the most recent talent tiers are as follows
1 - Dahlin
2 - Svechnikov
2.5 - Zadina
3 - Tkachuk, Wahlstrom, Boqvist, Bouchard
3.5 - Hughes, Dobson - TheSabresTaco
Could be, I kinda felt like tkachuk at 4 , then a drop off.
That's really just a guess on my part.
I trust your breakdown

Risto is a no unless its for someone like Hall
Ror can be a hockey trade
Sam will be a very tough call, I want to keep him. If he is moved, it better wow me... - washedup20
For me personally, I'm not moving these 3 unless I get GMTM esque returns. You know, 4 prospects and #1 draft pick in return per player. |

not saying he's wrong. Saying that juniors can have an impact on draft position. Unless you're so strongly entrenched in a spot that your juniors performance will have no bearing on your position. Like Svech and Dahlin. - TheSabresTaco
GM's get a hard one for those players thinking ok maybe this player it's not putting up the points because he's not in the right situation I believe I can create that..
For example if TK was in the OHL he have over 90 points and people wouldn't think twice about picking him correct ? |

That’s the general consensus...
but individual teams will have players ranked differently
For example:
We could have Tkachuk ranked in the “2.5 area” with Zadina & think there’s quite a margin between him & the “3s”
So obviously it would suck if we picked 5th and missed out on him
Gerbe is 100% right
You ALWAYS want the highest pick possible
For me,
There’s a top3 & then the cutoff
I’d consider a defenseman over Tkachuk at 4 bc we have a big need there
No way to know what Botts is thinking though |

This offseason, we'll know exactly what management thinks of him and can adjust our opinions accordingly. |

I think some will have Tkachuk in the “2.5” group & some will have him with the “3s”
Idk that there’s a consensus on him
I think pick 4 is where teams draft boards will start to differ
Picks 1-3 look pretty set to me at this point |

The thing about Tkachuk is that he had a great world juniors, but his college season has underwhelmed scouts. Before and after the tourney.
I love the player. But if I'm picking at 4, I'd have to take a real hard look at what his projected ceiling is vs the other couple guys around him. Especially the pair of potential top pairing Dmen. |

Well, first you're assuming he'd have 90 points. Then you're also assuming that his point total would mask his overall potential, which is false. GMs and scouts put a premium on prospects playing against men. They can't stop talking about how player x plays against men so he's ready for the AHL etc.
But apparently, in BT's case, he's underperforming. He's also 17-18 playing in the NCAA. Few prospects outside the top 10 are able to do that. |

Gotcha
Probably still a 1 or 2 year bridge deal imo
Around 4 mil
If we miss out on Dahlin,
then it’s definitely a possibility we try to move him for a top pair defenseman
He’d be our best currency to do so
And i wonder just how much Botts wants to try & make this team “faster”
Sam will be a lot easier to trade than ROR or Okposo & get a good return back |

I think there's another factor involved in Sam's 2nd half, not just his contract.
Just speculating, but maybe an intervention or rehab?
He is a night and day different player. He didn't just wake up and say I better play better to get paid. - Boss34
There were rumors of Reinhart having some off-ice problems but I've heard no specifics about it.
I don't really want to speculate as to what those are/were but it seemed pretty clear something was distracting him from what he should be doing on the ice. |

I say we keep Reinhart, and trade Orielley and Nylander to the hawks for Toews.
Maybe Toews can teach Eichel how to be a captain and lead a team |

Your missing the ponit I'm saying people would think of TK different if you put those kind of points up in the OHL correct I'm talking fans in general people are looking at it his college stats and saying man he's not going to score at the NHL level

source? - TheSabresTaco
watch the canucks draft video, benning gets a call from botts about flipping picks. Read somewhere else (may have been 89 or homie as well) that he though casey would go off the board at 6 to vegas or something. |

Would you trade sam to Vancouver for pick 5-7 in this draft? - Boss34
If he wants near or above 5 million long term, absolutely.although he has looked better, I’m not paying another guy 5 million that doesn’t produce on his own. Unless we get Dahlin, then we can keep him.
If we are drafting a forward at 2-4 in draft we need a defenseman from somewhere. Sam and O’Reilly are the only tradable pieces to get one. |

Me thinks way too much weight is placed on that World Juniors tourney. |
