It's definitely close for me. They've both put their teams on their backs.

Sadly, we'll all be pissed when it goes to either McDavid or Kucherov.

- jmatchett383

I can see McDavid getting it just hockey writers can't help themselves from themselves.

That said....I think the Oilers are the most disappointing team in the NHL this year. Many, many pundits had them going to the Finals this year. As bad as Chicago has been, I think folks have seen this coming from that team for awhile now.

But this was the year Edmonton was supposed to take that next step and they've done nothing but step on their own Richards all year.

My thoughts on the Hart trophy race is that it should go to a player who made decent teams better. Kucherov is definitely deserving but he plays on a stacked team. I see McKinnon, Hall, and Giroux as players who are the most valuable to their teams.
- MJL

i'd throw Kopitar into that mix.

It will be really regrettable if either Hall or MacKinnon doesn't win, if their teams make it to the postseason. I mean, we all see it. Those teams are bsttling Arizona and Buffalo without them
- AllInForFlyers

I hear what you're saying but I would have no issue with Giroux winning over both of those players.

Put McDavid in place of Kucherov/MacKinnon/Hall on those teams and he wins it.

That's the interesting part.

Absolutely -- I wouldn't howl about that, because Giroux has been amazing. No doubt about that. I don't think Hall/MacKinnon have been better by miles, just that each has slightly less to work with

Oh, if the Oilers are still battling even for a WC right now, he would win it, no question in my mind.

I watched NJ-MTL last night. It was the same as we have seen from NJ all season: They are one of the fastest teams in the league, but can have trouble finishing. It isn't that they are waiting for Hall to score, but they need him to to either do it or create it for others because he is so much better offensively than the rest

Have to admit: Hischier is a good player. He really is. Think Patrick is going to be very good, as well -- very happy with him -- but Hischier looks like a 70-point guy for a long time to come

Annoyingly so. He makes me hate the Devils even more.

When asked about Giroux and Couturier in the awards races, he noted that the Hart was a close race and a lot of guys could win it, but that Giroux should absolutely be in a "small group." For Couturier, his Selke answer was blunt: "To me, he's the guy. I believe he should win." - Charlie O Connor talking about Hexy

I hear you -- I keep waiting for Kinkaid to crack, but we are at the point where maybe he just won't

Off topic, but can anyone tell me why in the world one would use SnapChat unless you're cheating on your significant other or sending damning photographs of yourself to someone? Other than that, what does it do that a regular text messaging program can't do?

Also: I'm old.

Nasty little fight between Couts, Kopitar and Bergeron for that one. Could go to any of them, not all for the best reasons but I think that will be the nomination cohort

Ha! I think the one legit usage is that you can at least pretend anonymity for sensitive conversations -- you can run it "blind" and if you don't identify yourself, no one should know who a sender is. Self-deletion matters if you are in a sensitive conversation. I have had staffers use it for work purposes

But just to use it between friends and family, I don't see the point. And if I'm sending you nudes, you damn well better plan on keeping them; that's why I sent them.

Because we live in a era where standard d-pics just don't cut it. A good filter goes a long way.

The entire value add of that application is that it deludes the users into thinking something they sent someone else is getting automatically deleted and they are somehow protected from that picture ever turning up. This is definitely false.

I actually did go SnapChat a try and it really, really wasn't for me. I couldn't uninstall it from my phone soon enough.

Serious question. Would you do Crawford for Elliot? Crawford has two years left at $6mil per. He is 33. Is he better than Elliot? If it was straight up I think I would. IF the Hawks wanted anything in addition I would say no.
