Its a rumour as of now. But the elite prospects website has it saying he’s signed in Buffalo. As well I saw a quote from the GM of his SHL team saying he believe Asplund is with the Sabres next year and is not part of their plans for next season.

I’d prefer ROR out the door first. But say we get one of the wingers at the top of the draft, it is not out of the question that Sam can be moved if a top defenseman is coming back in the deal.

I guess it's all opinion based. But you can never have enough scoring. Look at our scoring depth. Look at our 5v5 scoring. Look at our left wing ffs.

You don't trade either player unless you have a suitable long term replacement. Maybe CM can take over at 2C. Maybe you can use ROR to get back a top pairing D. I'd say you move him well before Reinhart.

Evander Kane’s best season statistically wise came in his last contract year, Drew Stafford made a career out of contract years. Someone ask Kyle Okposo, Villie Leino, and Christian Erhoff how producing in contract years worked out for them ? Reinhart has been great as of late. Give him 2-3 years at 4.75-5M annually. If he becomes more consistent it’s a good deal for the Sabres in the short term and the guy gets to hit the bank on his next contract.

Regardless of whether or not he has signed with Buffalo, him and Olofsson are playing in the WC. Neither will be here until next year. But, both will certainly be here.

He has all the talent in the world and it hasn't shown yet in the AHL until very recently.
