I don't disagree at all with the fact that he isn't dedicated to hockey and his track record would say it will continue...I just don't think he wants to give up the paychecks (have to pay for turn tables somehow). So if that's the case he has to buck up, play good hockey and stay healthy in between now and the end of his contract.
Wishful thinking, maybe. Completely implausible, I don't think so.
I'm guilty of being someone who thought Housley could work with him. - RhinoFan
Perhaps he still can, if he has to. His paycheck vs his ability to stay healthy does not make him worth holding onto. His body is simply too weak to play the way that he does. Most physical guys get hurt, sure, but he does much more than others. Either he plays more of a Brandon Guhle game or he's penciled in for another 40 game season next year. |

BO of Bogo this year has cap rams as follows.
$1,142,857
$1,142,857
$2,000,000
$2,000,000
Why wouldn't you. You do Moulson, this is what you get:
$3,666,667
$666,667
Add both up, for:
18-19 - $4,809,524 vs $10,142,857
19-20 - $1.809,524 vs $5,142,857
20-21 - $2,000,000 vs $0
21-22 - $2,000,000 vs $0 - TheSabresTaco
I think the Moulson BO is a given. I don't think they are allowed to buyout Bogo, because he won't be healthy during the window.

Well then I guess we better hope that he's healthy in time for the BO period. I have no idea which direction the Sabres will be going in this summer, but freeing up that cap space could make or break a big deal. |

I think the point is, if we wait, we can avoid spending on them for 20-22. I get that it's savings and there's an argument for pulling the trigger there, but I think I understand why Botts wants as much cap space in a couple years as he can get.
We've stomached it this long, why pull the plug this close to the finish line...or something like that. |

I get both sides of the coin. I think it ultimately depends on what they want to spend now vs later. CM could be owed a nice chunk in 20-21 and this draft pick could see something similar in 21-22. Plus if you want to get serious, we need to bring in one or two premium defenders. |

"Brandon is trying like hell to get up and get a quarterback," the NFL GM told La Canfora. "I'm convinced he'll trade up twice more if he has to. It reminds me of (Eagles general manager) Howie (Roseman) a few years ago (when he was moving up to land Carson Wentz)."
Trade all the picks let’s do this I can’t wait
We going to get our franchise quarterback |

Sedins announce they will retire after this season - jochfr
I’m surprised
Was expecting them to go to someone like Pitt on the cheap for a Cup run
Imagine them with Kessel on line 3
That would be nuts

I don't think there's going to be a big, long term deal coming this summer. It's not really Bogo stopping it. Looking a few years down the road, Jack, RoR, Okposo, Risto, and Sam are all projecting at 5m+. I don't see them adding another name to that list, until they have things sorted out.

I'm torn. One side wants to use a buyout, go after Carlsson in the offseason and try to bolster up a better team for next season.
The other side wants to let it play out, finish bottom 10 again next season, get the farm built back up and hit the ground running in 2020. You're right about CM and our 2019 pick. It isn't like $2M is the end of the world, but that might be around the time things actually get tight.

Stay the course wait until after the lockout by then Okposo might be a compliance buyout candidate |

Just tired of wasting Eichel's talents on this team is all. He deserves some playoff time IMO.
You're probably right, I just don't know if I like it or not haha. |

I like Carlson, but I think there's close to 0% chance of landing him, even if you offer 8m.

I wonder if it includes trading to 5 with the Broncos then moving from 5 to 2. Broncos are a huge wildcard in this. I would love to stay put though. You’re guaranteed one of Nelson, Chubb, Barkley. Could have an all pro guard, another von Miller coming off the other edge, or a stud RB. |

If you get Dahlin, there is no point in overpaying Carlson. If you don’t get Dahlin, then there is a chance you take a run at a guy like that. If Carlson isn’t running PP1 he goes from a 75 point guy to another Risto who we complain about for the next 8 years |

If the Bills get to 5 assuming the Giants stay at 2 and take Nelson Chubb or Barkley there is no need to go any higher.
Browns and Jets take a QB and the Bills at 5 get one of the other QBs
Browns take Allen
Giants take Chubb
Jets take Rosen
Browns take Barkley
Bills take Mayfield

Regardless of how the lottery goes, I don't see them making a huge, long term offer to anyone....and I don't see Carlson or JT considering coming here, even if we made the best offer.
