23rd - better
22nd - better
21st - better
20th - these are all technically an improvement on 27th - 1970vintage

JVR and Carlson.
Book it. - LordHumungous
JVR is the only free agent I would be happy with. The problem is, he has performed way past his contract every year he has been in this league. I would hate to be the team that finally overpays him. He has been a near 30 goal scorer per 82 games a season average since he has been with the leafs. All in all - I really hope we don't get any prolific free agents on July 1st. We will also need some of that money to sign Boeser this summer. |

Kind of a small and unfair sample size.

I think we have seen enough of the other players to know what we have in them though. |

I don't think he can. Baertchi is a more complete player. Sorry, but not sold on Goblin. I need a way larger sample size. |

I see Goldobin as Baertschi of two years ago, which fits in nicely with where the team is. |

Hard to say if JVR would approach 30 goals given the support of this current roster.
We need D in the worst way and I think the right hand shot of John Carlson should not be overlooked. I have a feeling Benning is going to look at OEL when I think Carlson would be a better option. If they go the UFA route that is. |

For whatever reason Goblin seems to find ways to score.
Would be interesting to see what he could do over an 82 game sched with proper linemates. |

Perhaps, but we don't know if he will make the same development strides. Baertchi was playing some solid hockey before the injury. |

You will never know if you don’t make that opportunity available. If you force Goldobin to “win that job” from Baertschi, he probably won’t. Just like Gaudette wouldn’t beat out Sutter for his job. |

There should be room for both of them now that Daniel is gone. I am not against trading Baertchi and rolling with Goblin but I am not sure if handing him a top 6 spot is what's best for his development. |

Someone posted a picture of a kid in a candy store when referencing Benning with all the cap space, yet many on here want the top free agents to be signed.
We want Carlson, JVR, Neal, and most would love to have Tavares, we are just as bad, probably worse.
I would prefer to sign some solid players like a Nick Holden on defense.
Players that will be reasonable cost, reasonable term, reasonable on-ice contributions.
This rebuild stuff takes time, lets not get carried away with this fast-track stuff, that everyone on here has complained about.

Don’t know, I don’t deal with Telus. Rogers is offering the remainder of the season and playoffs for $75 |
