revisionism my friend...
You did hate the miller signing however, ill give you that.
I dont think anyone was against the Eriksson signing when it happened. - Pres.cup
I am here to say loud and proud that I was against it.
But I'm against 99% of what this management group does no matter what it is. I am consistent with my hate. Never waiver. |

I was. I have always said, no more than 2 years, and no more than 4 million per year. Didn't like the Vrbata signing, didn't like the LE signing, didn't like the Gudbranson signing, didn't care for the Miller signing, but gave JB praise for MDZ/Gagner/Burmistrov/Weircoch (thinking they would be assets able to be flipped). - Codes1087
When Eriksson was signed the vast majority of posters on all the threads felt it was fair value and that we'd get a 20g 30a two way player. Half way into the season the truth came out that we'd been jobbed |

I'm all for spending aqua mans money.
Now that the twins are gone we're going to win, win, win! They were the only things holding is back!
Seriously, look at our roster without any ufas or the twins, we're going to do even worst next season without help.
The idea that guadette and Peterson are going to score 50 points each and be better defensively is laughably mockable.
Sign Taveres to 1x maximum or whatever he wants.
Sign Carlsson to whatever he wants.

This isn't about spending FA's money, cause I am for that as well. You have to be cap-conscious in a cap-run world. Spending to the cap has never been a Canuck issue, but spending to the cap WISELY always has been. I have always wanted them to never commit more than 2 years, and 4 mill AAV to a player, because it almost ensures that is won't be A) a long term mistake, B) a non-tradeable mistake.
ALSO - Why would a high profile free agent, go to free agency, only to take on a 1 year contract?

even if he scored 20-30 goals, I would not have supported the signing. To me, it was much like Vrbata's signing. I understand the motive, but don't understand the long term gain. We want to build a young core, a young fast team, why are we signing a older player to a 6 year term, its ridiculous. |

Fine thats even better, offer kane, Carlsson, Tavares and Karlson each 2x4m and see what happens.
Do you see our roster being better next season? |

I don't understand most of the veteran signings he's made:
Miller
Vrbata
Vanek
Eriksson
Gagner
Etc.
To me it seems like these were second or third choices. |

I like The Who but out of all those 70's super groups, probably my least favourite. |

I must admit, I liked Gagner/Vanek/MDZ/Weircoch/Burmistrov signings. I thought that they would all be decent depth trades (hopefully for picks) at this years TDL, or next. |

If the alternative is giving Nucker a "bobble head" then I suggest expanding your web use. $10 well spent if you ask me. |
