If he's not ready now will he ever be? I think it would be a mistake not to assign a new regime next year, it would leave the team with even less of an identity.

I'd agree with that, they were decent support players this year but as its been pointed out, in this stage of the rebuild those prime zone starts are better used on kids getting acclimatized to the NHL

despite their lack of speed, one thing that always baffles me is how frequently those two come up with the puck on a dump and chase forecheck. Even to this day, when they dump it in, they come up with the puck most of the time

Ya, if they could be playing 3rd line behind two legit top 6 lines, I don't think many would be complaining.

Again, they're just smart. How many times has JV dumped it in and just flown by/into the defenders and missed the puck? They play the angles and are tough on sticks and pucks. That old man strength comes into effect

You mean my mushroom story? It was more the booze than anything. The shrooms just added more crazy to an already psycho night. I don't really consider shrooms drugs. After my teens I was in a crew who didnt do drugs and often chased druggies off and used them for a source of instant income. We drank and brawled mostly. Any time I heard a story about one of our guys doing drugs, it usually involved a smoking hot woman and a off the reservation adventure.
