Yeah, i'm undecided on this one.
I don't really care either way if Bo is named captain now (or to start next year) vs going with a bunch of A's for the year (hopefully punt Edler/Tanev by the end of next season).

Idea:

Base the draft on GF/GA differential minus empty netters. Harder to 'tank' this way and removes all those 3 point games from being as big a factor.

It's a letter. He will be the best player . It shows the fans the future has arrived. No need to make a big issue, young players become captains and As all the time

C's have to address the media day in/day out and are often held accountable for the team's success (or lack thereof).

The question is not about is Bo a leader or not, or is he too young, but more does he need that extra responsibility on his shoulders.

The more i think about it, i'd rather have the vets shoulder that load for next year (where it looks like we're gonna suck pretty hard) and let the kids just play.

i'm going with 3 A's as my preference.

According to player interviews and the mic'd up segments Edler is actually very vocal on the ice. He's shy in interviews but who cares if he gives the media anything to work with

I've always enjoyed the idea of counting points earned after being eliminated from playoff contention. Gives the worst teams more time to try and earn a decent spot. If that system had been in place this year the canucks would have increased their draft odds rather than decreased them dramatically in the last week or 2.

I agree with your take, maybe not the exact same A's but next year will be a big one for Bo without Henrik there and adding the C might be an unnecessary burden. Plenty of examples of teams that havent named their star kids captain, like Toronto, Florida, Buffalo, New Jersey
