That call was BS.....I can't wait till that same call is made in a playoff game that costs a team a game or a series.

I was talking about arguably the most useless and pointless challenge in NHL history.

I'm not liking this attitude towards Simmonds. It's reminiscent of how everyone was towards Giroux last year. Sure he's having a down year and has been playing bad lately, he could have some lingering injury that we don't know about. He's never been a defensive cornerstone of the team. I keep hearing no way Hextall resigns him, which is complete nonsense IMO. If the price and term is right Hextall will definitely give him an offer. If he's asking full term and 6m+ let him go but you guys act like he's complete garbage now.

Thank you!
Simmonds deserves better then the trashing he’s getting here.
He’s made some glaringly bad plays lately, but the guy is a warrior and has been the premier net front player in the league for multiple seasons.

I don't think anyone is trashing him. But he isn't above criticism when it is there and deserved.

He's not playing very good right now, but if this team is going to make some noise going forward they will need him to pull out of this funk.

Unless Simmonds is traded, I think this year has more roster turnover than next. I don't disagree that what you've said is the intent with the veterans on the roster, but I don't think they are used as fillers as much as they should be.

when I say fillers i mean players who are here for the short term to fill in the gaps

I think a player can be criticized especially for his poor plays the last two games without disparaging or disrespecting the player outright. Personally, next game, I would reinsert Laughton, place Raffl in Simmonds spot and scratch Simmonds.

i don't post here a lot anymore, but i love how much people love black metal and i (frank)ing hate how the flyers played last night.

stupid jerks should have just lost 7-1.

can't wait for playoffs!

Again, those 1-2 points from that Nashville game sure would be nice right now.

This is a great comparison.

I was just discussing Norwegian black metal with a deeply religious co-worker of mine. Oddly enough, while we were talking, her Christian rock station podcast cut out and she couldn't get it back until she walked away from me.

The players deserve the majority of the blame because, in the end, they're the ones that have to execute. Even if they're deployed in less than favorable matchups, in the end, they're the ones whose actions determine the outcome.

But that challenge was a terrible decision. I get the reasoning, but it was so high-risk/low-reward that late in a game.

I saw Barzal blow past Lehtera like he was a cigar store indian.

The key in the game against Carolina is to insert Weise back in the lineup. As well as maximizing the ice time of Lehtera, Manning, and Gudas.

- PLindbergh31

Cause that has what to do with the too many men on the ice penalty?

Provorov - 22:21
Ghost - 21:58
Manning - 20:04
Gudas - 20:01
MacDonald - 16:11
Sanheim - 15:17

I wondered if AMAC saw limited ice because of his stupid penalty that got wiped out when the Islanders scored but even still, as bad as the third pairing has been I just can't stomach those ice times. Gudas was terrible. He was even getting knocked around. I don't understand what is going on with him.

The league must have scared the bejebus out of him if he gets in trouble one more time.

The league should do that to a certain "star" player who goes out of his way to be dirty...

Exactly. After the season (that hopefully includes a long playoff run) I'll wager that comes out that Simmonds has been playing through something. Same thing went on with Giroux. "Oh my god he's washed up!"

Marchand, 100%. Crosby and Malkin can do some dirty stuff here and there but neither are any where near Marchand in that department.

Malkin and Crosby are "sneaky" dirty, much like our captain is. Even the immaculate Toews plays dirty at times.

Marchand remorselessly injures people with his cheap shots.
