I said that about Lappy last year and here we are.

The Flyers are loyal to their former players to a fault. Any former player they've canned has come years too late. Clarke, Homer, Lappy. It's a trend.

- hereticpride

In my opinion that will not be a factor in whether they make a change there. I don't believe Hextall would hesitate if he feels a change needs to be made. He had no issue firing Berube.

Recorded the game and didn’t watch it until last night(didn’t know the score so it was very exciting).

I was in shambles.

But I still bolieve.

Without Brayden Schenn? No shot at making the playoffs, let alone surviving the first round. I don't even know why they're playing these last few games.
- Ftown19125

How clever. You can't argue my point so you bring up Brayden Schenn. Wow, really got me for the 206th time this season.

Seriously though, I'm sorry my fandom doesn't delude my like the rest of you. It's a good thing all of Philadelphia's tears keeps me hydrated.

Here is how I see the next 2 games going....

Thursday. Flyers win, Florida loses to Boston.

Saturday. Elliott plays the Rangers, game only matters because of seeding.

- J35Bacher

i want this thursday outcome just so i can relax for a few days.

Slight counterpoint: In so many words, they pretty much told Terry Murray to take a walk when Hak took the head coaching gig.

The Flyers second PP unit is not good, we all know that. No reason why they can't use two defenseman on the 2nd unit and put Sanheim in there. I think he should be getting PP ice time now.

I’ve already got my anti-pole grease climbing gear ready if they miss the playoffs.

It would be inexcusable if he's back next year after being at the bottom of the league again. Part of the PK issue is personnel too. Lehtera shouldn't be dressing and he's getting a lot of PK time. The Flyers are definitely a good ole boys network. No doubt about it.

I think a player can be criticized especially for his poor plays the last two games without disparaging or disrespecting the player outright. Personally, next game, I would reinsert Laughton, place Raffl in Simmonds spot and scratch Simmonds.
- MJL

I think Simmons should know after two back to back bad games with lazy mistakes he knows he has to be better. Now after being pulled off the powerplay as well l hope he can come back with with the right attitude and get his game going. He’s already been demoted to the 3rd line and playing with Weal who I don’t believe makes anyone better is a challenge in itself. But Hexy isn’t gonna make the same mistake Edmonton did with Lucic only way Simmons stays is if he stays at a discount .But sitting him isn’t gonna help, I’d put Lauts back in and sit Weal, play the line-up other than goalie who your gonna play in the playoffs.

When is the last time the Flyers had a GM/coach tandem that had no prior affiliation with the franchise?

they kept reggie lemelin around for 97 years as their goalie coach for crying out loud, and he was only a flyers draft pick.

I'm gonna keep things current while you guys struggle to. Cartoon posts and all...

George McPhee called Ron Hextall last night. Quick conversation. He said that he built a Cup contending in a summer.

Thank you guys, I'll be here all week.

We need the Gerew, Cineckny, and Clootreeyay line to pick it up. And hopefully Mirakzeck can make a few big stops.

You didn't really make a point, dude. You don't believe the Flyers can win a round of the playoffs and that's fine. I personally, and I said it yesterday, think they can play with every team in the east but Pittsburgh. The playoffs are a different story, I know, but they seem to usually play well against teams that should beat them. This season, the Capitals are a good example.

People forget how much parity is in this league. Who had Ottawa in the ECF last year? A hot goalie + a confident team goes a long way. Usually the cream does rise to the top, but I doubt anyone would be around the NHL would be shocked to see the Flyers win a round.

It’s not like the Flyers were expected to be cup contenders this year and a 1st or 2nd round exit would be a devestating blow to Hextall’s plan.
