not sure if it has been posted, and I refuse to go back and read pages because of whitey's bio, but my buddy texted me this morning saying he heard some media guy say the Canucks could look into acquiring Hossa and his contract, along with Nashvilles 1st rounder that they sent to Chicago for Hartmen, along with either Sikura/Forsling. Has anyone else heard this? - Codes1087
Hossa's probably still better than any winger we have not named Boeser, maybe he can still play

I don't think Hossa can play with his "allergy". He still has a cap hit of 5.275 for another 4 years after this year

A buddy of mine has the same illness as Hossa, he could barely get his gear off at the end of games without being in excruciating pain.
His skin usually peeled off and it was almost impossible for him to shower after the games as he blistered up all over.
Pretty nasty looking illness. |

I haven't looked into the Hossa situation at all. I thought it was more so the Blackhawks trying to work around the system into saving money but not playing one of their aging forwards, but what you say above sounds awful. |

I call bullpoop, on Hossa, I find it very difficult to believe this came up suddenly when his contract declined to a salary of 1 million per season. |

That could be, just saying, there is an allergic reaction for a few people out there.
I give him the benefit of the doubt. |

That’s a rediculous concept - Hossa doesn’t hurt the Hawks, he didn’t retire, he’s injured. Now, if you said Seabrook I could see a little smoke. |

Actually “injured” or not, Hossa doesn’t hamper the Hawks ability to spend |

In the summer he does, but you're right, not during the season, he goes on LTIR on day one of the season. |

No, I'm naturally gifted to the point I'm not in need of any resistance training. |

You can be 10% over the cap during the summer. |

Their situation is nothing like Pronger, or Datsuk, or Horton. If the Hawks are going to pay to get rid of a contract it’s going to be Seabrook not Hossa |

I'd take Seabass if it meant getting a 1st & 2nd or maybe TWO 1st round picks |

Yah I am not sure where my buddy got his rumour from. Doesn't really make sense IF the Hawks can continue to keep Hossa on LTIR for the next 5 years, I am just not sure the league allows it. |

i'd say it's similar to pronger. so this type of deal:
Chris Pronger traded from Philadelphia Flyers with Nicklas Grossmann to Arizona Coyotes for Sam Gagner and round 4 pick in the 2016 draft (Otto Koivula) |

I stand corrected, Pronger also didn’t “retire”. Still, the contract doesn’t hurt Chicago’s cap structure. |
