Will Don be able too find you in the hotdog section or will you be looking for him in the latte section? - Reubenkincade
I left a bear trap in the hotdog lineup for Lefty. Hopefully he isn't too round for the traps |

I stand corrected, Pronger also didn’t “retire”. Still, the contract doesn’t hurt Chicago’s cap structure. - 1970vintage
real cap space gives you more flexibilty than LTIR space at the trade deadline.
marc savard and dave bolland are 2 other trades that kind of set that market for that minimal gain in cap flexibility. |

Getting rid of Seabrook gives them much more “real” cap space to work with... the ltir spacec allows them to spend over the cap, it’s really 6 of one half dozen of the other isn’t it ? |

Jasek has 4 points in 4 periods of AHL hockey.
EDIT

yup, getting rid of seabrook will help them more.
but it would have to be sebrook for eriksson? then no real savings.
throwing enough draft picks and prospects to ditch seabrook seems like shooting yourself in the foot? |

they have to start somewhere though.
Toews/Kane/Seabrook/Keith/Hossa/Anisimov/Saad/Murphy (much lesser extent)
All players making above 5 million AAV (apart from Murphy) to contracts that go to 2020/2021 |

Idea of Hossa/Bobby Ryan going to Vancouver for cap relief in exchange for 1st round picks. - Codes1087
I can't see Ottawa trading any picks given their situation, Chicago, yes. |

I see the opposite. Melnyk is so god damn cheap, I could easily see him moving contracts with picks. He has Dorion by the ____ and his Brassard move, and Gaborik for Phaneuf deal shows he is open to salary relief. Moving a 1st and more, along with Ryan, to sign Karlsson is something I 100% see Ottawa doing. |

It would be ridiculous for a rebuilding team to trade away another first round pick, they don't have one next year and this year they don't have a second or third round pick. They sold the farm to try for a Cup last year. |

this. chicago will hurt themselves too much by moving enought picks to dump seabrook.
saving money in ottawa is so important that they would do it. ryan seems like the guy to take on.
and yeah, a 1st and more sounds right to me. |

And thank god Florida took Crouse - WhiteLie
Connor having quite the rookie season, very similar to Boeser's actually. Jets are good at drafting and developing. Seeing the fruits of it now after a bunch of patience by Chevy. |

See the Burrows and Duchene trades. Ottawa is the ideal trade partner. I wouldn't trade Turris for Duchene straight up But they happily threw in a first plus a former 1st round pick |

I fixed that spelling for you but yes, it's hard to figure out what they're thinking. As I just said, no 2nd or 3rd this year and no 1st next year, as it stands, can't see them making more deals that includes them getting rid of picks. |

they'll probably trade karlsson and use some the return to ditch ryan.
so net, they'll gain picks and they will think they are winning. |

Preaching to the choir, I grabbed Connor in our pool early on as an injury replacement but couldnt bring myself to drop him
Friedman's tidbit about that draft I found pretty interesting. Canucks were very high on Boeser, but if FLA took Connor then Winnipeg likely wouldve gone with Boeser. A few decent guys went after Brock, so options were available, but I'd have loved to see their old draft board for that year |

Canucks don’t need to trade LE. I’m sure everyone would love it if they did, but after July 1st 2019 there will be very little money remaining and a $6m AAV for two more seasons, the perfect scenario for retiring in the desert... |

If Benning didn't get Boeser I'm sure he'd have had another swing and a miss |
