the boys over at Canucks Army had always raved about his skill level. They were also very persistent on his numbers being low due to lack of opportunity, rather than anything else. I didn't see this coming at all

He was one of CA’s numbers picks - lots of potential, with a small sample size.

You're simply lying to yourself if you honestly believe Virtanen will ever be what Ehlers or Nylander or even Larkin are as players. He may produce some good years but they'll never get the longevity that those teams will get out of Ehlers, Nylander and Larkin as they've already been good players for the past two years.

If Virtanen has five years where he puts up decent numbers it still IMO won't be the ten years that Winnipeg, Toronto and Detroit will get out of their guys.

He may produce some good years but they'll never get the longevity that those teams will get out of Ehlers, Nylander and Larkin as they've already been good players for the past two years.

Can we just agree that you were and will always be on the verge of rehashing it, perpetually, ad naseum, over and over again.
