Sportsnet was granted those additional frequencies based on a promise to provide regional programming. There's absolutely no reason a historic NHL home game in Vancouver should be preempted by a baseball scrimmage from Toronto. Clearly they aren't living up to their mandate and the CRTC should be the ones hearing about it. - YeOldTimer
Agree. I’d trade Ontario asap.

Just a beef when regional channels are not regional is all. I loved my playing ball days but 162 MLB game season i don’t need to see it override hockey. - Nighthawk
Only if they were on the wrong channel. |

I also liked the Millionaires vintage jersey but thats a radical change colour wise. - Nighthawk
I actually like the Millionaires logo, since the name Canuck is so hard to encapsulate. Thought this concept piece was cool
Someone also made these guys up, and I agree that 50th anniversary will probably bring a new jersey with it:

Green jersey not ideal, but the stick in rink logo is among my least favourite so I'd like the Millionaires "V" (or some variation of) in the current colour scheme |

Term I agree with. Money I'd look at something similar to Tarasenko's or Gaudreau's. Could be a little steep. But people thought that with Draisaitl |

Team name doesnt do them any favours. Its too late to change it now, but like the Wild, Canadiens, Blue Jackets, and Avalanche, finding a new logo/identity to match it would be very challenging |

I don't want a new one, just want the original one back. Just my preference. |

Not so sure BB is in their range. He is a goal scoring winger while Tarasenko is a top scoring winger along with Gaudeau. That said 8yr term is fine if money makes sense so say 8/6m is my max. Top $ for me goes to a 1C & top 2D. When or if we draft or sign those as a UFA is for another day. |

On another tangent...
Cap wise what is a good breakdown dispersing the money around if $80m?
In total how much for F’s then D & in Goal? |

From HF
"According to Sportsnet 650 and Elliot Freidman, the Canucks will dangle a different approach this summer when it comes to free agency.
Apparently they are prepared to overpay a UFA player as long as the term is short. 3 yrs or under.
Speculation is that the mystery player is John Carlson and the offer would be 10mil/yr for 3 yrs.
This would allow Carlsson to still be a UFA at a prime age of 31 in 3 yrs.
The Canucks of course have 14 mil coming off the books w. The Sedins retiring.
The Canucks have gone on record saying they are going to be looking at UFAs that can help with the development of the young prospects that are about to take over the team.
The blue line is theyre biggest hole so its no surprise they would be targetting Carlsson."

Still can’t believe we gave up Alaska for future considerations. Terrible asset management
The British are horrible owners. |
