They're actually funny guys, half of them, but their sense of humour is obviously different. They laugh and crack jokes all the time. Every hour they have a tea break chucking the poop in their own language. |

UFA or draft?
UFA classes always look better when their more than a year away. Then by next June, 50% or more of the good players are already signed. |

One of the guys at work left his phone on the table , one of the other guys took the phone and shoved it down his pants and rubbed his nuts all over the screen. Now that is dry humor |

Tavares is kind of one you would throw money at.
shattenkirk is right back to his .5 ppg career avg with the Rangers. Carlson I would guess the same back to his career avg of .55 for next season. Signing him you wouldn't be getting his best years in the future either.
Van isn't in a spot that one player take them over the top. - manvanfan
Depends on our draft. Dahlin, Zadina or Svech plus Carlson and EP coming in could set us over the top. We will likely trade Tanev which would set us back a bit though, hopefully OJ is NHL ready. |

I prefer a trade for a center using Tanev . I don't mind going Bo Sutter Gaudette until the right player comes along
Brady Tkachuk can play center |

I think I listed 3 players.
Toronto added 3 players and made the playoffs. They were worse than we are when they added those 3 players. Lots of teams add a couple new ones and it turns them around. If EP can play like he did in Sweden and adjust quickly, and we got a top 3 pick and Carlson, we can immediately be a bubble team. |

I wouldn’t sign a UFA to a big contract to help the team go from bad to bubble team. I’d rather sign one in the future when the team is already a bubble team or expected to make the playoffs and needs another top player to become a potential contender. |

You need to fill some holes. You can't take the twins and Vanek out and replace them with AHL players
You don't have to go crazy in the free agency but you do have holes to fill
Benning was very clear last night they will fill in holes but won't spend it like a sailor in a whore house |

I'm 100% on board with shot term contracts to fill holes so we don't end up seeing EP or Gaudette play with Dowd or Gaunce when injuries hit.
My issue is with the impatient fans who want one of the big boys in free agency who will command 6-7 year contract with NTC's. |

Even if this team pulled a NJ/COL, those teams did it without signing a big ufa last year like Shattenirk, Radulov, Marleau, Hanzal, etc. Hell, the Avs actually made a trade for the future during this season.
And EDM and Toronto did it with McJesus/Pigman, no offense to EP but I'm guessing he won't be dominant during his first season here. If he can hit 20 goals and/or 40 points, we should be really happy. |

I would be okay with a three year 10 mil deal for Carlson as long as Tanev and Hutton are gone . The difference then is 2.5 mil for 3 years.
I am also okay with Bozak at 3.5 for 3 for center security |

Difference is more like 3.0M or 3.5M, they'll need another dman to take up that roster spot. But yeah, if Carlson is willing to do that, then it's definitely interesting. Can easily flip him for a big return if they retain salary. I'm actually waiting for the day when a team signs a UFA for another team, would be funny to see.
Canucks sign Carlson 3 years, 10M per. Retain 3M or 4M, trade him on July 2nd to the contending team that gives up a good pick or prospect to get it Carlson at 6M or 7M short term instead of 7 years.
I'd be cool with that for Bozak but I think he gets more just because of supply and demand.

I don't think Bozak will get much more . He is not that great even with demand.
Hutton and Tanev @7.5 or Carlson at 10
Mimimum return on Tanev would be two seconds and for Hutton a fifth |
