I’ll take Lehterä for two years if it means getting two firsts. Moreover, I think Lehterä has been ok when he’s been used properly. |

LOL, you can have the pick. Army bent Philly over a stump on that deal.
If they miss the playoffs this year, at least they can't use "We fought back hard this season" as an excuse for not moving worthless players. - WhatAboutBawb
Schenn was caught in a roster crunch with Nolan Patrick (slated to take over his 2C spot) and several of their youngsters coming up. He also fell a bit out of favor due to his lack of productivity at ES. I still like Brayden and wish him the best, but getting two firsts was a good haul. Hextall and the scouting staff have done well in the draft, so I thought it was a good deal for both sides. |

We’re interested where StL finishes because it affects where your first rounder will be and we get your 2018 1st from the Schenn deal. That interest has only been heightened from the possibility that the pick may be a mid-teen pick in a fairly deep 1st round of this upcoming draft. |

He needs a fresh start on a team with no expectations
The team tightened up like a drum in the 3rd
This mess is on Armstrong as much as the players The blues are playing half AHL and half NHL players
After Tarasenko scored last ngiht Blues teams in the past have slammed the door this team is too immature and inconsistent to finish games
Chris Butler can move along any time too I would rather play Reinke |

I hope to put up a blog that has some discussion of this later tonight but that is illustrative of a bigger issue that I see or at least am very concerned about.

For those newer to the site, here is the piece on Allen I did in May 2014 - http://my.hockeybuzz.com/...er_id=17431&post_id=16131
and a refresh in July 2016

I'm the 1st to admit I can be tough on goalies, comes with the territory of being tough on yourself as a goalie and just the sheer reliance and pressure of the position but the red flags were all there.
The contract Allen was given, a year before hitting rfa, was a gamble, a bet on him ascending significantly in play and consistency. It was a bet that he would ascend and you would have him locked up at a cap hit that was a million or more under market value. It's a gamble I wouldn't have taken based on the red flags I saw and one that seems to be coming up craps.

Their Defense is depleted right now, but I would have gambled with someone else besides Butler who has clearly been overmatched in every NHL game this year. |
