Is Galchenyuk the type of player that will be able to do anything in Buffalo?

He seems like the type to struggle in tough situations

- Shadman306

He's also not really a center. He's like a Reinhart center

I look at him as a guy that could benefit from a change of scenery. Id have him at center temporarily until Mitt is ready to be 2C. At that point you could possibly bring in Asplund as 3C or Rodrigues

And if you have them both on the same line they could split duties. Hed be more of a stop gap for the missing ROR

See, I think that also to an extent, but how many times have we been burned by the "he will be better with a change of scenery"

I would love to be a fly on the wall this offseason. There will be players moving out and coming in. Along with the draft lottery I think it’s a exciting time

I cant really think of many? Nobody that notable at least. Its not like Galchenyuk is doing that poorly. He would bring speed and offense

If someone is offering a 1st rounder this year in the top 15 picks you take it no questions asked. If Montreal says Poehling and their 1st I take that over Galchenyuk

I highly doubt any of that has actually been said

I think the play where he got caught and man handled by smith was the turning point for Nylander's game.

To me it was kind of a well I messed up already, nothing to lose now.

He looked much more comfortable after that play.

- Shadman306

Could have been Housley or someone on the bench telling him he can't get caught there, but I agree. He got better as the game went on, which makes sense, he's only had what 5 nhl games or something?

Hypothetically speaking. I think Montreal would be crazy to do that but crazier things have happened.

Yeah I'm sure he got some learning material from someone on the bench after that play. It was very very ugly.

Galchenyuk for O’Reilly would be a steal for us.

Oh yea I mean id take that deal too. But I just get the feeling it would be Galchenyuk that moves before those assets

Raanta officially signed $4.25 for 3 years.
- jochfr

But he’s signing here.

How can this be?

Why would we be adding? ROR has outscored him every year of his career.

We'd be saving 2.5 mil a year, but in 2 years, he's either getting a raise, or he walks.

Strictly for salary reasons. And when I say add I mean a player like Girgensons so really we benefit. And Honestly 2 years under contract is perfect. Gives us insurance until the young guys hit their stride. He can walk

Or don't add IDK. Baseline of the trade is ROR for Galchenyuk. Add if you must

Galchenyuk Is a workout Machine I had trouble keeping up with him when I was in Miami

I think a change of scenery could do him some good
