What game this year was the “O’Reilly game”?
Eichel had phenomenal games against Carolina, Toronto, Nashville and other memorable ones.
Hell, Kane had games where he was the best player on the ice.
Even Reinhart has.
That’s rarely, if ever the case for #90 - sbroads24
Easy peasy, game where Factor gave the old how do you do to Pasta and pitch fairked a back hand top shelfski in Ohhhhhhhhhvertime. |

well written sir
Roster cut:
1. Pouliot
2. Nolan
3. Larsson
4. Girgs
5. Lehner
6. Gorges.
7. Bowl-u
8. Johnson - washedup20
Idk about the order there...
but i think most of us can agree with your list
I don’t think Girgs & Larsson are nearly as bad as many on here,
but I’m also ready to to give the kids a chance in their place |

Not really. But if it serves your narrative. Go for it, kid.
Okposo can’t be sent to the minors during the duration of his contract. No trade or not, his contract is not moveable. He’s done. But you already know that
McDavid vs Eichel. Just look at the stats. It’s not even close.
I am sorry to see the Sabres are embarking on yet another rebuild. 31st place. Wow. Sabres fans must be angry. Maybe you could take your anger out on The Pelugas instead? Not some guy who is merely stating facts. 2014 or 2015. Whatever - BernardShakey
but you were wrong, so they can't be facts |

Sure...
but he’s not a “take over the game” type player either
And don’t say “for his Cap hit, he should be”
ROR isn’t gonna suddenly change the type of player he is bc we signed him to a big deal |

Schiefele is a Center.
Stastny is basically the same player as O’Reilly and is producing slightly more since he got there, which isn’t unusual for a deadline add. They usually see a spike in production
- sbroads24
My bad...
Winnipeg’s wingers on the top2 lines are:
Connor & Wheeler (between Schieffle)
and
Stastny has Ehlers & Laine
Are u really gonna try & tell me that ROR wouldn’t have more points if u put him in Stastny’s spot instead of in between
Wilson & Reinhart/Okposo?
Come on dude
Even if u kept ROR on the Sabres...
same minutes, same zone starts, etc
O’Reilly would be more productive if he had wingers like that |

What do you mean? That’s my point. He wouldn’t produce more overall points with a lesser role, but he would be a more efficient player
- sbroads24
My whole point is that it’s how he’s used that makes him less efficient
It’s not that he isn’t a good player
So, if we had a 3rd & 4th line we could play more...
Then we could lighten his load,
which would improve his efficiency which bothers u so much
And if we can get more talent here,
so that he has some linemates like the guys you’re comparing him against,
then it’s also likely that his his points will go up a bit
And that’s what the Sabres are building towards (hopefully, anyways) |

What, for a shift?
It certainly wasn’t for any length of time
If i remember right, it was
Andreychuk (sp?) on the LW
And I’m sure they had someone (at least somewhat) skilled playing with them after he went to Tampa |

Yeah but that’s an extreme example, and not really a credit to O’Reilly.
Sure, he’d maybe score more with Laine or Connor or whoever.
But that’s more of a credit to Laine. You don’t need a 7.5 mil center that needs elite wingers to up his game.
He’s a fine player. Not as good as his reputation |

I used to think he’d be a star
But Allen has been really disappointing
And StL has a good defense!
Still probably worth a shot if he can get his confidence back...
but he’s been pretty bad

I used them bc u were comparing him to Schieffle
No one here has said ROR is a superstar
But u calling him average is more off base than however much his Rep MIGHT be inflated
Bottom line...
he’d score more with better wingers
AND
he’d be “more efficient” if we had a 3rd or 4th line that could take some defensive minutes away from him
I don’t think either of those statements are arguable
Seems like common sense
Is he overpaid?
Sure, but what good player WON’T we have to overpay?
O’Reilly is a GOOD player
We need MORE of those... not less |

pretty sure it was after dave was traded for grant, that season
ray played a stretch of games as their other winger to protect those 2 |
