I don't believe the Flyers can pass Columbus but they can pass NJ so Flyers win and NJ loses. St Louis loses for draft pick purposes of course. - nastyflyergirl
The Flyers are 1 point behind both the Devils and Blue Jackets with all 3 teams havinf 1 game left.
If the Flyers win and the other two lose the Flyers finish 3rd in the division.

They will not bring Flip back will they. There has to be better options out there for that position for the money - Daceroni
You'd hope so.
But today, I don't give a (frank) about next year or June. Just win today, and worry about all of the bullpoop later.
Just (frank)ing win. |

Flyer can end up in 3rd in metro and pass CLB and NJ by winning their game and CLB and NJ both losing.
So if that happens they get Pitt. - Marc D
yeah I don't want that so I am sticking with Flyers win, NJ lose, Columbus win. Honestly there isn't a team they could play, if they get in, that I would say we are going to win. I just think Washington is the best match up and best chance |

draft pick related and assuming neither teams win the lottery or are in the final 4, the Flyers pick would fall between 15-19 and St. Louis' between 14-17. |

Will 100% take that.
Should be solid depth to an already loaded propsect pool..that or give them the ability to make a trade of some sort possibly.

for sure. If Tampa wins tonight against Carolina as they should Boston cannot catch them so I don't feel as confident in Florida losing either game this weekend. |

Do they not have the option to move it to next year as well, or maybe I misunderstood the deal, or is it only if they make the playoffs? |

Boston wins out and Tampa wins out, doesn’t Boston own the tie breaker |

The thing that has me most annoyed about this season..if the Flyers had half the points they gave up in overtime or last min losses we are talking about them being the top team in the division..
That is a key for them next season to go to the next level. |

If Hakstol is incompetent, you have nothing to worry about. He'll be fired. I suspect in the end, where the real incompetence lies in that statement will be apparent just as it is now. - MJL
Not today. Let’s be positive. |

No doubt but that's the type of team they've been all season. Living on a very fine edge between winning a losing. That's how they've had both a 10 game losing streak and a 10 game winning streak.

I don't even care who they play. With their current goaltending, and lack of quality depth at both forward and D, they aren't beating anyone anyway. I just want to see them get in and let the kids experience the intensity of playoff hockey.
edit: This is why Hagg should be back in the lineup for game 1. They have no shot at winning a Cup, none. The 2010 team OTOH, other than in goal, was a great team that underperformed for most of the season. This team though, is just an average team. Let the kids get as much playoff experience as possible. There is nothing to be gained by sitting Hagg in the playoffs. |

Well, that and getting healthy and consistently good goaltending.

I am not afraid of the Penguins. Look at their 5-on-5 GA and notice that they are 27th in NHL. None of the four teams below them are in the playoffs. Six of the seven teams immediately above them (except FLA, who can be eliminated today if Flyers take care of business) are not in the playoffs, either. While I don't particularly think the Flyers are the right team to beat them in a playoff series , I think someone will expose thin blueline depth and so-so goaltending. |

No.
First tie-breaker is ROW.
Unless Tampa wins in shootout and Bruins win both in regulation or OT. Then it would be tied.
Then it goes to head to head.
Boston wins that. |

In the NHL anything can happen. 8 seeds have knocked off 1 seeds. When they Flyers play as they're capable of, they can be competitive with any team. No doubt that they'll need quality goaltending but I'm not ready to write them off as a first round exit. |

Tampa Bay has been giving up a poopton of goals lately - they could be in trouble against a patient team.
And Washington is Washington. |
