I think Stone and Athanasiou are RFA’s. They could use a 4th line Center from free agency. Bring Schaller back. - Hatboro_Swords
I loved Schaller and was bummed he left. I was using Sportrac, just checked Capfriendly and I believe you're right. |

Cheech- "Hey man, am I driving too fast?"
Chong- "Dude, we're parked!"
In high school I played baseball high once. I was very paranoid that the coach would know. I went to the plate in the top of first and the ball looked like a bb coming in. The coach never let on that he could tell and I relaxed after that. The next 2 times up the ball looked like a beach ball coming in and I hit two of the longest shots I'd ever hit. - Ratsreign
Dare I say performance enhancing?
Or did it give you a laid back demeanor? |

I think either Baptiste or Bailey will get traded this summer. Given their waiver status, RW depth chart, performance this season, and their defensive deficiencies, I don't think they want them both in the opening night lineup. I know they have ardent defenders here, who think 3 seasons and 50'ish NHL games hasn't been an adequate opportunity. I think JB has formed his opinion on them, and they both hold some trade value. It's the right time to flip one to address LW or another need. - Lunaion

Someone earlier suggested it but I would try and use them and a pick to unload Bogo’s contract.
There’s no way this team can be taken seriously with him still on the roster |

I'd be fine with that too. I think they are willing to give him another season, and buyout after, if it comes to that. He has negative trade value right now, and we aren't likely to utilize that cap room next year anyways.
I expect a 'sell high' move this summer, rather than a bunch of 'sell low' moves. Eager to see what he does.

Looking at the unrestricted free agents that are available next year, a few not-out-of-the-realm-of-possibility names jump out. I focused of players in their 20's without huge previous contracts:
Mark Stone
Calvin de Haan
Andreas Athanasiou - PrinceChill
Stone is one of the most underrated 2way players in the league
He’d look great on RORs wing!

Agreed. Too bad the only real UFA on that list is CdH. I trusted foolishly trusted Spotrac's info. |

We have a very good core of young players.
Colorado was worse last year then we are this year points wize. That's not arguable.
How's my Casey prediction so far. 5 points in 6 games.
Still think he's going to stay in school or play in Rochester?
Top 3 rookie next year, that's before he played these 6 games. - Boss34
Well you could’ve said the same thing about the Sabres for this year too...
there’s way too many unknowns to say if we will be 15 points better or 30 points better
What free agents like Vanek KNOW is that there’s teams out there who made the playoffs this year
Let me ask u this...
Vanek didn’t sign near July 1st right?
Both sides had plenty of opportunity to make it happen if there was mutual interest.
Obviously there wasn’t
So what’s changed?
Pommer & Botts were here last summer too

1) Never once mentioned college as an option for Mittelstadt next year
NEVER ONCE
2) never said that “i thought” he’d be in Rochester
What i did say, was
“that the way Botts preaches development though the AHL, it wouldn’t surprise me if he had Casey play in Rochester”
Twisting what I’m saying is pretty lame dude
Read more
I’ll reiterate AGAIN...
It’s not that I’m not psyched about Casey
I do think he will be at least a good player for us
All I’ve ever said is that idk if he will be a ppg player next year
Hischer got 53points this season
Nolan Patrick got 30pts
If Mittelstadt drops a Barzal-like performance next year,
it won’t surprise me & I’ll be thrilled
And if he only goes something like 20-20-40pts
Then I’ll still think he’s got potential to grow into a better player
But there will be A LOT of ppl on here who will be really upset & some will even call him a bust
Look at how the board reacts to every player here who doesn’t meet potential right away
Hell,
There were even ppl saying we should consider offers for Jack |

If Bogo is just gonna get hurt anyways,
then who cares?
Hopefully we can still move him for a late round pick though
Maybe keep some $$$ to make the deal happen
I don’t really wanna give up assets though
Not unless we really have to |
